Due to having little to no traffic this morning I ended up getting to my delivery in Seattle an hour and 50 minutes before they even opened. I'm finally getting unloaded yet despite my eta and Nat being set the same for 3 days now, I still don't have a preassignment. Hopefully I get one before I'm unloaded or else I'm going to deadhead 24 miles south to the loves and wait there.

After waiting about 2 hours for a preassignment I ended up deadheading 196 miles south to Forest Grove OR for a live load. Been waiting for half an hour now to get a dock to back into. I'm hoping I can get done here and head over to the Portland OC before my 14 runs up so I can take a 10 at home. I've got 2 hours and 19 minutes left and ticking down. 39 miles from the OC and its supposed to take 2 hours to get loaded.... ####!!!!!

Not to mention I'm the only truck here and I'm just waiting for the #### forklift driver to finish his break.

Did you get there before his break started? I always had a rule that I would take care of any driver who showed up before my break started and then I would do the break. Makes no difference when my break was, didn't really care if I got one. Technically I didn't have to because the union rules said I shouldn't, but it was more as a courtesy to the driver. I would also never stop loading/unloading a truck just because the break whistle blew.

I understand that the contract says the break is allowed, but when you are dealing with somebody who is already on limited time why force them to wait longer just so you can finish your coffee. That stuff never made sense to me.:biggrin_25512:

Turned out they didn't go on break, they went home lol. Somebody from a different department had to come over and load me. I ended up pulling into the Portland OC with 4 minutes left on my 14, mainly due to traffic. I had 17 minutes left with 4 miles to go but the I205 onramp from I84 sucked.

I'm scheduled to be back for some tah on the 28th but seeing as this load doesn't deliver until the 28th in Stockton CA, my tah isn't gonna work out. Im gonna message my dbl tomorrow and make sure I get a load heading back up to Portland from there so hopefully I can be back on the 29th. I'm trying to buy a house so I need my hometime!
