Without idleing, how do you guys stay warm/cool? I mean seriously, how do you sleep being uncomfortable? Really curious.

Warm can be done as long as the bunk heater keeps running. They should last for 10 hours if you don't use any other power in the truck.
Cool could be an issue. Window screens and fans will work until about 60-65 degrees. Then the truck turns into an oven on a sunny day. -
I just have to confirm something, when I was at orientation for another company (in 1999) there was a handful of Schneider refugees, and they told me that sometimes after dropping a loaded trailer, dispatch wouldn't have an empty for them and they were instructed to go out and just drive around looking for one! You had to cruise around in some warehouse area hoping to stumble on a empty trailer just sitting in someones yard, sounds preposterous... but?

Not even a little bit true. All SNI trailers have GPS tracking on them. They are currently retrofitting all of the trailers with Solar Panels so the batteries in the trackers won't die as often. They will tell you where to go to find a new trailer. They will provide a customer name, address, and should update your dispatch on the GPS to give you directions right to the truck entrance.

Hope this works better then the old system. About 3 years ago, I was sent to a place about 20 miles from Albany, GA to get an empty. I find the place, drive up on the dirt lot, and a nice older gentleman greets me. "Hi", he says. "You're looking for trailer number xxxxxx". He was dead-on correct, right down to the number.
"Yeah, about every three months they send someone for that trailer. Hasn't been here in three years.".
This was the most extreme case. There were many....MANY....others.....they don't have a stinkin' clue where the trailers are half the time. -
But you DID say "Not even a little bit true" Don't get offended but if you weren't actually there back then, are you qualified to make that statement?

Out in Oregon, about to take the I-84 going Utah. Anyone want to give a heads up? Looks like I caught this stupid cough that's been going around. I was fine only until I got to French camp for Super Bowl Sunday. Next day the GPS system wasn't working....smh. Anyways, I'm still happy with my choice of starting with SNI....talked to a guy a couple days ago that just left Werner, he hopes SNI is better.
Bigdubber Thanks this. -
I was in the Carlisle OC the other night and went in the shop to see if they had an open PM slot and the mechanic was discussing something so I decided I would listen and see what they were talking about. Apparently, Schneider's answer for the CPAP users that can't run the heater and their CPAP at the same time is going to be a small 12V battery that will be mounted by the passenger seat and have an inverter attached to it to power the CPAP machine and the battery apparently will recharge everyday while you are driving. The mechanic said he was going to email green bay about it with his safety concerns, but I hope he doesn't actually expect an answer. I already have another carrier lined up and the 26th of this month will be my last day with Schneider.
