What do you think of Kimberly Harding at Schneider the recruiter?
-
She was my recruiter. Pretty straight shooter. If you have questions about anything she says just ask.

ok, recvd a message fron the ole dbl today for out account that says 10 % idle no exclusions during hottest months. anything above 10% idle counts against bonus. Soooo my choice is to get actual rest in somewhat comfort with idle for AC and no bonus OR sweat the cajones off while trying to sleep in the daytime when our natural 10 hr breaks arre for this account.
I see this also counting against performance raises too( but am going to ask) as this charged idle is a parameter for us on the overall scorecard too.
thankfully I have this new portable battery to use for cpap. Thinking I can run cpap off of truck now that heater wont be running and use the portable batt for a couple fans that draw real low.
Am going to be looking hard for a similar job. hard to give up this money.
Only other question I have is when the paycuts go into effect. Its the next obvious $ saving scheme for GB dbags -
They must have changed it then idle is was only performance not bonus

Every line of business set their own bonus metrics. Since Mikey's on a dedicated route his may/will be different than the rest of us. After we get a couple of quarters worth of data I think the bonus metrics/standards will start changing again based on region/division/etc.

I've got kind of a different question: I'm going to be applying to Schneider soon and am planning where I can live. I'm single and my brother and his family live in Houston Texas. I don't want to live with them when I'm off, but should be able to use their address as my residence, I think (will that be okay with Schneider to use his address as my residence, so I can obtain my CDL in Texas?). I don't want to have to pay rent on an apartment, as an example, when I'll not be there 80% of the time. When I'm on my 6 preferred days off per month, can I stay in my company truck at Schneider's facility in Houston (OC?)? In other words, is the truck mine to use as my home if I choose, when I'm not working? (I do understand it couldn't be driven by me during that time. I would have my car there.)
-
Man. You don't want to stay at the Houston yard. It sux. All they have is a couple of vending machines. I don't even think there is a shower. If you don't want to stay at your brothers, just do over the road all the time. You will be bored to death at Houston. Just stay out.
Oh:: Watch that first turn into the Houston yard. It's a Doozy.Twicebit Thanks this. -
So, Klatu, the answer is that Schneider WOULD let me stay there in my truck, if I'm okay with being hungry, stinky, bored and grumpy, correct?
Sounds like I better get used to being a little less independant and learn to enjoy living with family!
-
Oh yea. They will let you stay there. But if you bring in an empty, you will more than likely lose it. Most of the empties there are leakers or something else wrong with them. Then when it's time for you to go out, you will have to go out and find an empty.
Even if you stay with the family, where are you going to park the truck? At the yard? I usually ran a month at a time. I would go crazy sitting that long. I would keep on running. Especially in these good warm months.
