I have a few questions about SNI. If I get my cdl from an approved school and hired on with SNI, how long is orientation, do you go out with a trainer and for how long? When do you get a truck assigned to you?
What can a first year newb expect to make at SNI? I am interested in dry van for now.
Thanks.Last edited: Jan 6, 2012

Get the CDL from an approved school and you come to sni orientation is 5 days i believe and then 10-14 days with a Training Engineer. You then go back to an OC for SQT (skill qualification training) pass that and you are assigned a truck and handed over to a DBL and you are turned loose to run solo. realistically pay wise could range between 28k-32k but it depends on the driver could be less or more.

Thanks TennMan.

Hey all im about to go to GB for orientation monday for the choice program. But i have a small dilemma. The truck i picked out is a 2012 T700, 13 spd, isx 450 (yes i know i picked one of the most expensive but im not going to buy a freightflopper) i wanted a KW and i done some price searching on the trucks and it seems the new ones are about market value sometimes slightly less... But i just noticed earlier that the kind of truck i originally wanted ( 2011 T660, 13 spd 450 isx, no thanks on paccar) popped up on SFI's web page.... My question being if anyone knows is it possible to swap trucks once im in GB??? i really cant afford to sit at home another week... And all those lazy office people are at home on the weekends lol. And b4 anyone has a come apart on me i know the truck payment is gonna be high but from what i have read (and believe me its been way to much) the mpg on the T700/660 is avg about 7-8.5 mpg (T700) and 6.5-high 7s (T660) which should save me a couple hundred a week compared to a 5.5-6.5 avg. And if anyone knows or can check whats the freight like coming out of NE Alabama like around Huntsville if anyone can can check... And thank you all for all the info its been real helpful towards turning me into a pumpkin. And especially you TennMan i believe i have read about 600 of your 1005 post lmao. (Sorry for the long boring post.... Alot more came out than i expected lol)
TennMan Thanks this. -
One more thing i really only need to bank 500-800 per week to survive preferrably the latter as i only have a few bills one which will be paid off in Feb. Will it be to difficult to pull that off?? Thanks in advnace and i hope everyone had a merry christmas and a happy new year

Yes it will be difficult with as much as your truck.payments gonna be. Not saying it cant be done but you wont be taking much time off, if any. The kw's are.nice. I much prefer the 660 myself. But im not sure about swapping. I wouldnt think it would be much of an issue. I def would, especially if its cheaper. My trk payments run $1050/mo. Your prob easily gonna double that.oddly enough sni doesnt change the payment amount much they keep them.fairly close to.each other.and vary the length of term. At least it seems that way to me

Stay away from the paccar motor. At least for a few more years
i like that blue 2011, and it has a 13 speed. Dont know why all them new ones have 10 speeds. Fuel mileage will be better with the 13.
With 250k mi its just enough to let the original owner take most of the depreciation. I would still try to knock off about $5k -
That's funny to read 1050 per month. When I was at Prime, mine was 1100 per WEEK!!!
scatruck Thanks this.
