Best bet is to shy away from Mercer on the van side.Haven't heard of anyone doing great on the vans.Flat or step seems to be good there.

I'm happy with Landstar but it can be a little difficult lining up loads and dealing with the different agents. All around not a bad company just right now freight is incredibly slow.

I was an O/O at Schneider back in '99-01.Way before choice even existed. Not a bad company to work for and they definitely do have the freight.I've heard good things about the choice program and from what I see on some of the posts the L/O are making good money even after their lease payment and such.I would possibly move over to Schneider if anything happened here at LS

Don't know about Schneider but the guys on van at Mercer are complaining about rates and availability. Some van guys at mercer have decided to switch to the flatbed side.

[Q If Schneider didn't have an age restriction when I was starting out they'd be dealing with my lazy arse, but LS lucked out and got me on account of no age restrictions on tractors.[/QUOTE]

I didn't realize Schneider ever had an age restriction on trucks. I heard it was as long as it would pass inspection and capable of running an electronic log..
