Nope, It's after Labor Day. Bootsie doesn't wear white boots or drink vodka after Labor Day, this is whiskey season! And since you were about to ask my preferred brand is Maker's Mark - and Christmas is coming.

    Regards, Bootsie

That wasn't necessary or nice. Now go back into your Mom's basement, play some more X-box and let the adults talk.

    Regards, Bootsie

Bootsie you are a bit of a tard..not a bad thing but it can rub people the wrong way.

As for Syracuse I run up that way quite a bit..I don't have any trouble finding loads there.
I'll be there tomorrow evening near the fairgrounds.

    FUELING 101 ...

I BOUGHT MY FUEL CHEAP TODAY I MUST BE DOING IT RIGHT ... RIGHT ?

WHO REMEMBERS having a BINGO CARD ....?

    Thats what IFTA became...

Just because you bought your fuel at the lowest possible price for the day does not actually mean that you are saving money ... WHAT ? Your kidding me JARHEAD right ?

No - What you save today can come back to haunt you at FUEL TAX time unless you buy your fuel correctly. Now there will be folks who will wrestle me on this but at the end of the day the fact is if you dont watch state fuel tax rates you may be doing yourself a extreme dis service when it comes time to pay your QUARTERLY FUEL TAXES ..

    Here is why ....

Each state has a different tax rate and in some states you pay LITTLE or NONE AT ALL upfront ...

Illinois has a ULSD TAX of 22.6 per gallon
    Indiana has a 16.0
    South Carloina is 16.75

If your fuel in the following are

    Illinois 3.20
    Indiana 3.15

Which is your better buy today for your future ?

If you said Illinois your correct see to get the base cost of the actual fuel you must subtract the TAX from the rate to get your over all cost AFTER TAX ...

RETAIL - TAX = FUEL COST

Find out if your carrier (if leased onto one) provides any of these fuel tax services:
    • Pays fuel taxes for their drivers (this is rare, but if so, you will want to purchase fuel by the actual billboard price)
    • Calculates fuel taxes for their drivers and settlement deduct balances owed
    • Routes trucks to fuel stops based on fuel prices and fuel taxes

Be aware of the states that do not have the same fuel tax as other states.

Indiana, Kentucky and Virginia have something called a “Surcharge.” This is a kind way of saying these states are keeping part of your money. Only purchase the amount of fuel in these states that you plan on burning in these states. Oregon never entered into the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA), so they do not charge any fuel taxes at the pump. This may sound great, but it means any fuel purchase in Oregon that leaves the state will be charged fuel taxes at the rate of the state it is burned in.

I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL FUELING LIKE I DID AS A COMPANY DRIVER ...

That is so far from the truth ... If you think you can pull that off more power to ya but you will FAIL and FAIL FAST..
The absoulte best way to FUEL is BY THE TRIP or BY THE LOAD ....

Why is that... Because if you buy too much fuel and have a BREAK DOWN or a LOAD CANCEL you are left holding the bill for that fuel that you pre purchased ahaed of time and it WILL COME OFF YOUR SETTLEMENT... The best owner operators are the ones who can CONTROL THEIR VARIABLE COSTS and FUEL is one of your #1 expenses learning to control this and understanding IFTA as described above will help to insure your success for TODAY AND YEARS TO COME ...
