SCHNEIDER CHOICE PROGRAM - FREEDOM AWAITS " YOU " by JAR-HEAD

Okay so the Schneider finance lady giving problems no longer works there and my file got transferred to somebody else.
I'm approved all the way now suddenly.

Anyway I want a Kenworth and am willing to put $2k for a used one BUT they told me a used Kenworth requires a full 3 year lease!
I wanted to do a 1 year, maybe two on a used on but not 3 years.

Does that sound accurate?

I'm still tossed up by either going to Schneider or Prime.
Concerned about the rates with Schneider but like the freedom and drop/hooks.
Prime is 72% and it's reefer which pays more.. but it's reefer which means more BS detentions and dealing with a dispatcher.

IDK what to do

Comparing reefer to dry van is like comparing apples to corvettes. I've done both and yes you have waits on both but reefer is always waiting either to get loaded or unloaded.
Prime you have a dispatcher (your basically a company guy with more responsibility in my mind).
Schneider YOU pick your loads. YOU choose where you go and when you go. YOU have the control over how much money you make and not a dispatcher who doesn't know anything about other than your truck number.
For me the CHOICE (pun intended) is clear.
Now if I could convince the wife...

 

As a company driver I've done both dry van and reefer already.
I'm currently doing reefer at Shaffer, mostly drop and hooks at shippers but mostly live unload at receivers.
It's not bad here, .44 CPM and the miles are fine but I wanna do more than just being a company driver paid by the mile.

Yes it's two completely different lifestyles with each company but my mind is on the money.
Where can I earn more?
If it were close I'd take a 10% pay cut over Prime to be with Schneider.. just because of the freedom.

The problem is that neither company will let me view their load board to see their rates!!! ahhhh!
Schneider did send me a screen shot of their board of loads paying $1.10 to $1.30. Obviously that turned me off.
