SCHNEIDER CHOICE PROGRAM - FREEDOM AWAITS " YOU " by JAR-HEAD

As high as 9.5 empty for me between 7 at gross and 7.7 depending on terrain I average right around 8mpg if I run 63 or so

 

Hey guys I have a quick question. I've narrowed my 2 down to prime and SNI choice. Now my problem with SNI is living 1 1/2 hours outside there hiring area. I live in central Florida. I'm waiting to hear from a recruiter but is there ANYTHING I can do? Any possible way around this? I'm looking to move with my girlfriend to Knoxville hopefully by the start of the new year. And I'd really like to weigh my options knowing I have both available. I sent my app to prime and the woman told me I should be approved by tomorrow. So now just hoping for SNI

 

hey dude, I live in the mountains of TN about an hour from knoxville. It's cheap to live here and no state income tax just like in Florida plus you're in the middle of freight around you in a circle which is awesome as far as "being in the middle of it all" to get home and etc.

I'm in between those two choices as well.
I'm leaning towards Schneider mainly because of all the happy drivers and how I don't want to deal with a dispatcher everyday anymore who plans my livelihood.

 

My reasons, too. And they don't just give it away. You actually have to qualify!

 

Yeah I hear YA man!! I'm waiting to hear back from both places now. I do like the ability to choose my own loads, but I like prime because they seem to have a pretty solid support system and I like reefer and typically the freight that's cold pays better from what I've seen. If prime just had a load board id go with them in a second! Lol

 

I been told (so take with a grain of salt) that prime charges a veriable milage fee also. On top of already high prices for the truck among other fees that come out

I would look at the flat deductions / fees between the 2 company's to see what ur flat deductions would be. This will help u to see where ur "break even" point is with both. Last I checked which was years ago, prime had the highest deductions out there. I est 1750$ a week in just flat deductions before fuel.

 

Unless I misunderstand your post, I think your information is outdated. Prime's contractors are paid percentage, not mileage. It's currently 72%.

 

Ok got moved in should have everyone answered by end of the day on PM sorry again just took a bit longer than expected then the wife had a curtain hanging chore last night also so was doing that and finished up and took off today .. so I got more time at nights now

 

Prime does charge a Variable mileage once you drive the truck XYZ Miles I know a guy who just quit them and was averaging 700 or so a week net income after expenses

You get a higher percentage but you have the Variable mileage rate and you provide the reffer fuel also for that rate .
