That's a big thing for me. I'm not really a people person so....
-
Is there a non-compete clause in the lease ....... And how much notice do you have to give to leave ..?
Taking the truck and getting all your money......etc. -
I don't guess I understand your question . This is a owner operator lease ... No notice is required and of course they won't let you run around and just do what ever you want but there is a clause that says you can :
Lease to another company as long as you pull your SNI stuff off the truck etc ... ( that's if you own your truck )
2. You can take the lease truck to another company after a period of time if you dint like Sni for some reason
If your question about non compete is can you just get on any load board and book loads the aanswer is NO YOU CANNOT . You must pull the loads off the SNI load board .
Again notices are for company employees we are business owners s.. -
You still must be somewhat a people person we deal with SNI customers daily .
-
In conjunction with my last post ....
SNI absolutely WILL NOT take your truck from you as long as you follow company and finance policys as it pertains to ...
1. Payment obligations
2. Maintenance and up keep
3. HOS regulations
4. SNI Code of ethics and Driver & Co Rules
5. Deliver Freight on time ( or timely if weather or etc happens )
6. Time Management
And they only take money they are owed or for damages to the truck ... They don't just keep your money ... This is a very upstanding company with ethics and standards .
This is not ... I repeat
THIS IS NOT A WALK AWAY LEASE ...
If you turn truck in they will seek damages as written in your finance agreement ... So if that's what is ment by take your money then YES they will take what they as the INVESTER ( SN Finance ) and Company are owed per the contract no doubt -
By non-compete clause I meant you can't approach any of their customers and haul for them directly (with your own authority ) for a long specified time period after you leave the lease..Lots of carriers love to throw that in a lease.
And most require a notice to end the lease on your part .... To stand any chance of getting your maintenance funds etc back.........
carry on.......... -
Well sure they won't let you take their customers I haven't read that part because I had no intention of doing or trying that ..
I thought you mentioned carrying other carriers freight ... -
I'm sure it's written in some sort of a ethics portion of the lease you can't steal their customer base ....
-
Let's say you are in the choice program, have your own truck, and you get an opportunity to take a load from another party (say maybe a direct relationship with a different shipper company - a non sni company). Assuming you have the needed insurance (and authority?) would you be allowed to accept that load or does the choice program limit you to only sni loads?Last edited: Nov 20, 2014
