I believe your figures are quite good but too short of timeframe to compare the two companies..

I think that JCT also pays road taxes, license fees, scales, DH miles, and yes, I did see that you included those, and what about discount at the pump for fuel.. Too be fair, those figures would also need to be added into the revenue..

Can you maintain those figures over the year, instead of a week or so?? Maybe post a revenue difference over a year instead of a week would be a better picture between the two based on the operation of your truck..

I do believe that Schneider has an advantage over lighter loads, considering that JCT hauls Refers and Schneider hauls dry vans.. And, that you will have more Drop/Hook..

The other advantage Schneider has, is you pick your own loads vs being dispatched..

I think JCT has an advantage over longer hauls, which means less dealing with customers/shippers at each end..

Between the two companies, I do believe that Schneider has the advantage, but that is JMHO..

Sure those numbers can be maintained .. I don't post my numbers usually at all . Check out RICKYBOBBY , TENNMAN , DFO , DRIFTER , etc .. Those guys sometimes make the numbers I posted look silly .. Now with that said is there bad lanes - yes .. But it's the choices you make here that lead you to prosperity .. Running over on the EAST at SNI brings in big money but leaving kinda sux .. But you avg things out and I assure you 8 out of 10 weeks you'll come out ahead on choice ..

Road TAXES , etc is minor pieces to the game when you consider the whole pie.. 2290 is $550 so avg out on the year it's less than 0.01 and scales , who cares about that because most loads we pull that we CHOOSE are under 35k so scales are no plus side to the equation .

Fuel - our discount is off the CASH PRICE .. It's been as good as 0.225 and low as 0.13 since I've been here but that's off the cash price at any PILOT or J and the WEST COAST gets an additional 0.10 . Our discount changes every 2 weeks and it remains the same it doesn't change daily like some programs or only aval at certain locations in certain states ..etc ..

The largest advantage is the choice to run your business ..

They only thing sni choice has being able to choose your freight all u getting paid is that freight u pick. Jct has slightly better fringe benefits then a choice driver. Comparing apple to oranges. If choice was so great why doesn't every one leave there leases and flock to sni?

Even if you add in the 2290, road tax , etc .. The revenue per day would not exceed 650 a day based on the same miles listed in the example . Still a big difference per day on the example .. Even larger on the EAST COAST

TOLLS - OUR rates do not include tolls SNI pays all tolls over and beyond the rate except OH , IN and FL ( I believe that's right )

I just posted on that exact topic as you posted this . I think maybe we were thinking the same thing but the " FRINGE BENEFITS " at JCT don't add up to much when you consider the entire pie .. Got to look at it before you take a piece of it ..

To a person who don't understand 2290 , IFTA , SCALES , etc .. It looks appealing , but when you put a pencil to it it's not that much money when you split the APPLE in 2 it still has SEEDS in it .. The JCT plan is not the same as SNI cause it's a mileage lease vs % and percentage is just plain better in most all cases ..

FUEL TAXES = a moot point if you know how to buy your fuel and where so again the JCT ADVANTAGE is not geared to a business owner or someone who wants to learn the business .. It's more of a drive and go deal ...

If you watch and know your numbers you will do way better on %

Because people fear the unknown. I did the power only before with another company. I had my own authority, but no trailer. It wasn't force dispatch ( so they say). I was using there fuel card and I was getting 80% load pay. I had no control over where I wanted to run. Sure, I could request certain area I wanted to run. If I did that I would have to sit. Also, try to find someone to dispatch you after 5pm, you can forget it. Im not saying Sni is better than JCT. I personally wouldn't have someone else to run my truck. When your dispatch, its going to be heavy and Northeast run. I don't like to run in the winter, guess what you will when dispatch. The only person you can blame here if you fail, is yourself.
