    i went strait out of the MARINES to being a company guy .. I drove company from late 99 till 2010 company and bought my first truck in Feb 2010 . It was a 15k 2001 Freightliner FLD 120 I paid that truck off in 10 months and then saved up some and traded in April 2012 for my current truck . I was always on a mileage lease got tired of asking someone when I could take MY TRUCK HOME so I came to SNI . I love the freedom of being able to do my own thing and running where I want to .

    Allot of people will pimp LANDSTAR over SNI CHOICE and that's fine .. Some of their rates are better but some not as good . The biggest advantage is you don't have to haggle with brokers AKA ( agents ) over rates and don't have to do any math . Our board is short sweet and too the point and it's all quoted too the truck rates , no math needed no agents to call ..

    POINT , CLICK , ASSIGN , ROLL ...

    Thats how I like it .. Your not gonna get rich doing this but neither are you at LS or anywhere else .

    You out have to know your numbers such as costs per mile etc .. And know what you can and cannot pull for and know those numbers and don't be afraid to pull a short hop for cheap to get into a good lane .. You hear these guys say " My truck don't move for less than $2.50 " well on the landstar board 250 is really $1.62 roughly so keep that in mind LANDSTAR GUYS TALK GROSS and not NET TO THE TRUCK ..

    We SNI contractors talk NET NUMBERS ..

    Any other questions please feel free to ask

    The reason I came to SNI CHOICE was the EASE OF USE and more streamlined , meaning just
    FIND IT & ASSIGN IT .. No haggling needed and I like that .. If you got problems they help you here at SNI .. For instance I had a load delayed in being loaded and I had to take my break to do it .. I got paid because it was suppose to be preloaded and they wasn't even started on it ..

    No problem :

    took ok my break , hooked up , collected my detention ...

    Communication is they key to success here and everywhere .. , some communicate and others don't . SNI is not gonna hand out money for things unless you communicate the problems .

    If I net $1300-1700 a week after my fixed and variables I'm happy .. Some need more , some can work with less .. That's just my comfort zone ..

    Last week ( loads posted in thread )

    i still brought home $ 1027.13 after paying $ 550 on my 2290 at once 3 weeks insurance from
    vacation ( $366 ) and $ 50 escrow so I'd been around $ 1900 or so other wise .. And keep in mind that was 2 loads if you look back ..

    Money eye can be made here at SNI for sure

    To explain why I had $ 550 come put of last weeks check . SNI gives you the option to have them deduct and pay your 2290 for you , or you can pay it yourself . I had elected to have them do it . They would normally deduct this from your escrow but being I was fairly new I only had around 100 in my escrow because I took the long vacation to start out . So they took the 100 out of my escrow and the remaining $450 from my settlement .

    Again you have a choice to do it the way I did or you can pay it yourself online . If you have more than $550 in your escrow it will not come out of your settlement as mine did they will take it from your escrow and then deduct it at 50 a week again to get your escrow refunded to 1000 again .

    Just wanted to clarify that as to why it was deducted from my settlement and not directly from my escrow .

    Wanted to do a little rate comparison for you if anyone was wondering about LS vs SNI and rates keep in mind this is just one lane but I found it important to note . I have a friend who pulls for LS and we did a quick comparison on the same vendor ( location ) to destination

    MO to GA

    Load = 44,500 each

    LANDSTAR :

    $ 2.43 gross or roughly
    $1.57 once you convert the math .

    SNI :

    $1.69

    heres the rest of the story .. The SNI LOAD was a PRELOAD trailer and a DROP with a window on the drop till 23:59 the delivery date .. The LS load was LIVE and LIVE with appointment times on each end

    Now it is important to note that a LS driver that could negotiate the rate or fuel up could prob get that rate up to around 1.65 to even par with SNI ( but that's not a guarantee ) the difference I see is the time windows and the DROPS vs LIVE . Again to get basically the same rate at LS one would have to call haggle or pull extra fuel out etc .. Where at SNI you just select and assign and roll ..

    Now ow this is just 1 lane but a quick comparison on something out of my area near KY ..

    Another important thing to note in the comparison that I did not know until today is this , TOLLS .

    LANDSTAR :

    Included in the rate .. I think they offer a device at a charge or you get your own .. Im unclear on that

    SNI :

    They pay them except IN , OH & FL no charge for the device either .

    This is what I plan on doing once i'm out of the service. I've started a business account over a year ago, once I get out there will be more that 15k in that account alone my credit score is pretty good. I really like the idea of driving for Schneider as a company man to earn the potential 1k+ a month tax free. However I don't want to be a company driver for a long period of time. Do you think that I should driver for a year is it possible for one to get that recent experience and in my case buy my own truck and get on the choice board.

    you won't be able to go strait to choice unless your experience is recent . I can only assume it's over 1 yr since you were in a truck . I'd say you could prob be eligible after 6 months but not 100% on that since you have prior experience and would be a military refresher .

    id say it's possible at 6mths with your prior OTR exp
