Yeah, that reality is a real pia isn't it.
If you want to be so positive, why don't you loan these guys the money they need to get started? Sound like you have lots to spare from your post......

well seems like this thread is going south lol. at the end of the day every one is entitled to their own opinion and there responsible for their self. every bodies situation is different so what may be best for you may not be best for the next man. there risk and gamble in everything we do in life, but you need to ask yourself is the risk worth the reward, and if you do fail what do you take the chance of losing and whose gonna be affected by your decision.

Ok that looks fun to haul. How do I get that job? Can you start with heavy haul or do you have to start with regular flatbed? I've emailed the company you suggested 3 times and haven't gotten a response.

also heavy/over sized is good money but comes with more headache some times and long waiting periods.

Our machinery trucks ONLY pull steps and RGN's, no POS flatbeds here on machinery.
They would start you on the smaller stuff then work you up IF you dont mess anything up.
As far as doing what I do, it would take you a while, but you have to start somewhere. There are no shortcuts in hauling oversize/overweight, the screw ups are far too costly and the freight far too expensive for idiots to be pulling it.
Patience and skill are the two needed items for doing it. There is always more sitting with OD loads, but they pay accordingly. I can promise though, I make more on a single load than some guy pulling vans etc for one of the mega carriers makes in a week or two.
Not everyone is cut out for it, Billy Big Rigger types normally get weeded out pretty fast, as they screw up more stuff than the rookies do.
