If its a dedicated trailer you will most likely take it back to the originating terminal and it will be cleaned there.
If its a system load you will most likely take it to the destination terminal or an outside tankwash. Sometimes there's extra deadhead priced in because maybe the nearest terminal can't wash the product you have in the tank. For example, Markham tank wash wont touch any resin, it usually goes to Dedicated Tank Wash in Lansing.
Only company drivers get paid for their time waiting on a tank cleaning and it's capped. I did get demurge for waiting on a tank cleaning at an outside company, but that was an extreme exception and I wasn't ever expecting it to be paid (it was).

Superior covers the load insurance, so if you spill or mis-deliver you are not on the hook for paying the cleanup.
There are three insurances you need, Bobtail, workers comp and something else I can't remember but you can elect to get them independently or through Superior. I went with what Superior was offering because the price was reasonable and it was convenient. I think the majority of IC's do this.

You have a real workers comp policy..?

P.S. Given all the current problems with the van choice program I wouldn't go near the tank choice deal.,,,,,,,,,

@ 62% is the fuel cost your own? Tolls ect. . I have a relationship with a food grade bulk shipper and they currently have a few carrier issues. I do not have a CDL (more of a numbers guy and from what I see the line rates are attractive) so I would like to know what drivers are looking for. What would be your ideal scenario as a driver look like?

    I appreciate your feedback

I think he meant OCAC, not work comp.

Does Superior install the pump/in transit heat? How much is the cost? Do they train someone with no tank experience?

No, that's on the O/O unfortunately. My TM did give me a pump and compressor, the brackets, and some saddle boxes that were taken off old trucks. I spent around $7k getting it all installed with new PTO's, driveshafts, etc...its not cheap. And yes they do train and I think you use your own truck.

Oh and I don't have HIT, but it shouldn't be that expensive. The fittings aren't that expensive (and you might get them free from the terminal if they have old ones) and its straightforward routing the coolant lines. Heater hose is cheap lol.

Screw intransit heat . If you can get away without it that's the way to go .

And the real cost with pumps/compressors is hanging them......

It's over 10 grand for both installed (new)

That seems a little high for a shaft setup. I'm assuming a Quincy & Roper with balanced shafts.
