It did indeed! Definitely a few differences in logging between SNL and "The Borg". I will certainly be using more of my "on duty" time without the wheels rolling. No biggie, I think I can still make it work. Road tests tomorrow, then cover a lot more stuff, then finish up hopefully on Wednesday, dispatch Thursday. I'm not going to bother trying to get back Friday or Saturday, just going to stay out until the following Friday to "train" my DM how I run and what I am capable of, and to get over the learning curve of the SNL way of logging.
-
all the on duty time took some getting used to, but it really doesn't affect me because only working 5 days a week I never bump against my 70. I could see how it could affect those who stay out longer.
-
Yeah, I should be out 7 days at a time. With a little luck, and keeping my eyes on the internal job board, and some good performance and a referral by my DM (Or whatever you call it at SNL), I should be able to get an Intermodal gig. Tell ya what, went through logs some more today. That "Workflow" stuff is confusing. I'm going to be typing a LOT of stuff in that little MCP200. I'm hoping to get quicker at it and to be able to know exactly what I have to hit and record and when, so I can get it done faster. I had trouble at "The Borg" after getting bills and trying to do macros before having to pull away from a dock so someone else could get in. This will be much more difficult. D/H shouldn't be too much problem, other than burning more of my 14. It's a different concept for me not using Macros to notify of arrival, empty, pre/post trip inspections, etc.... Hopefully I can smooth it out. I prided myself at "The Borg" for being almost obscenely efficient with my clock, to the point of being suspicious. HA! Gotta get back to that. My belief is that on duty time and drive time should be very VERY close to the same time every day. I'm not earning money tapping into the QC, fueling, or doing a PTI, much less sitting at the back of a long line of traffic at a long red light. I averaged 3100+ miles per week at "The Borg", hitting 3944 miles the second week of December, in a POS 63mph International Pornstar. I need 2700+ miles per week here. I'm going to get it if it's the last thing I do. Not happy about the 60mph governed truck though.

Well runningman0661 first I would like to thank you for this schneider thread because I'm about to go to trucking school soon and I've been trying to figure out what top 3 companies I want to drive for and you have definitely confirmed Schneider for me. I'm glad to hear operations are still going great for ya and be safe out there.
runningman0661 Thanks this. -
Wow... was issued a 2011 Columbia. Had to clear the other drivers clothing and stuff out of it. Wasnt given anything to clean it with. It is disgusting. Wasnt aware we were governed at 60mph, wasnt aware that regional from Charlotte was everything east of I35, was told that we do 4 boros of NYC (at least it isnt 5 I guess). Lots of other surprises too.
-
make sure your DBl pays you for cleaning the truck, it should be $50 . 60 mph sucks, but I've gotten used to it I guess. Let me know when you want that jarheads name and number in Atlanta.
-
Oh, I'll take that number ASAP!

Not planning on contacting him at all until I get this workflow thingy ironed out so I'm doing it properly. Figure a month or more, and even then, just to introduce myself and give him fair warning that I'm looking for intermodal.
BTW, I've pretty much made it clear to my DBL that NYC is a destination that may turn me into a giant raging xxxhole. I don't do NYC. I know it's kewl for some folks, but not for me. That is the one standard of mine that I will not compromise on. He took it under advisement.
It's just good to be done with that unorganized CF called orientation.

Schneider does a lot in the NYC and Northern NJ areas... and they do force drivers to go in there. BTW, Schneider has a really strong intermodal group that runs up here in the Maine - Boston area. It's not easy driving but the pay is pretty good.

you outta the Flynn drop yard?
