THANK YOU for setting that slob straight! There is nothing worse for the image than a total pig that smells like merde, wandering around in a truck stop like he owns the place, hasn't brushed his tooth in three weeks, and makes the plants wilt in the restaurant. I always try to dress like I don't belong in a truck. You'd be amazed how much better the treatment is that way at shippers and receivers.
And SF to both of you Marines.runningman0661 Thanks this. -
To be honest I'm not sure about the regional guys in the van division. On the intermodal side were paid .42cpm, $20 for any loaded box we pull, $10 for any live load or unload, $15 per hour after 2 hours for detention, and short pay for any load under 50 miles. It all adds up at the end of the week.Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

Thanks for that. Just talked to Donna about regional today. No more mileage pay than where I'm at now OTR. Too much broken time, and only 1 year of the most recent experience. The rest started in 2007 but not enough to get me over the three year mark for pay bump. I'm reading the mile bands for short haul and still looks like I might be able to earn decent pay with as little as 2500 miles, but there would definitely be those weeks where I would have to stay out over the weekend and keep running to make up. It's either this, Metropolitan, or some local rogue paper-log company that wants 700+ mile days up into the NE. Might just wait for Intermodal to call me back.Truckerswifey404 Thanks this.

Ok, no Intermodal available right now out of Charlotte. Going ahead with phone interview with Donna on Friday. I'm thinking it's probably better than I run with regional for less money than run illegally with the local small company for a lot more money. If I burn out and need to leave said company, it's not going to be anything any solid company wants to use as experience. Besides, it should be easier to find a SNI Intermodal from within the company.

HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL YALL! DONT BOTHER WITH RESOULUTIONS CAUSE YOU WILL JUST BREAK THEM! Spent my last day in a truck and now gonna take a break for a year and go work with an old friend till next year. Job pays way high 6 figures and I can't pass it up. They may fire me but I will be there till the end. It's in Illinois but I can deal with it for a year. I will continue trolling this site and adding my 2 cents cause I love it so much. Lol had a couple today. Anyway all my truckers buddy's stay safe keep a keen eye out and watch those 4 wheelers and I hope to run with ya again in 2015.

Happy New Year to all be safe.

If you get in with regional I will give you a few contacts on the intermodal side and you can periodically bug them. The head guy over intermodal in our area is a guy named Tony out of Atlanta. He is a retired Marine and during the phone interview when he found out I was in the Corps we immediately hit off. He loves former Military guys.Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

Sweet! That big green weeny may just come in handy after all!!

Sounds like a good plan! Planning on running way more than the 2300 mpw quoted me, figuring on staying out a couple weeks or maybe 1.5 weeks to bring home some bacon, and maybe doing a 10 at the house whenever I can. Will definitely keep this thing I call a face in front of the intermodal folks. I'm handsome enough that they won't forget my face anyway. Sometimes, it's a curse looking this "hawt" (at least that's what I told that LtCol's daughter in Okinawa).
runningman0661 Thanks this.
