Hey runningman0661 first off Semper Fi! 8 Years in Marines myself got out as a Ssgt. I'm pulling containers out of the Portsmouth, Chesapeake,VA CSX & NS plus the un godly port locations. Do you know anything about their O/O program for intermodal?

They hire local and regional guys in Chicago. They have every shift you can imagine in Chicago. Again I would suggest talking to one if there recruiters. When I was searching they were very helpful, informative, and honest. If anything they gave me low earning numbers and not inflated ones.

I had a very frustrating week truck wise. I had a appt. on Tuesday morning for an A service on my truck. On the way into the OC Tuesday mid morning my dispatcher calls me to tell me that my truck was due to be taken out of the system and sold. I was given a 2014 Cascadia evolution, they are the smaller sleepers like you see some Prime drivers in. Since I usually only spend 1 night a week in the truck, that's fine. My one concern is the axle set up, some bean counter in GreenBay wanted to save some money and weight so these trucks have two rear axles, but one is a drive axle and the other is just a tag axle. The problem I have already encountered is getting stuck when backing up on uneven ground.... You can't lock your axles in since only one is a drive axle. I guess time will tell.

So I move everything into my new truck and get 60 miles down the road and start getting all kinds of check engine lights and codes popping up. I call breakdown, and the Charlotte shop. They tell me to head back. They hook it up to the computer and tell me it needs to go in the shop. So I grab my old truck and head back out. The next day the truck is out of the shop with assurances that all is good. The next day I head out again, get about 90 miles before the check engine light comes on again throwing the same code. I was told to finish the day out, and put it back in the shop. So I switch trucks again Friday morning and put the new one in the shop again. When I got back in Friday evening I check with the shop and they say that a line in the DEF system was clogged and blocked. Hopefully Monday the same issue doesn't pop up again. Be safe!

We'll I think they finally got the issues resolved with the new truck, she ran like a champ today. There installing scanners in all the intermodal trucks, so I swung by the OC and had one installed. It only took about 5 minutes to install and get a tutorial. Technology never ceases to amaze me. Be safe and have a good week.
