You want to live out of a truck for weeks at a time with nothing more than what you can bring with you on an airplane?

This often intrigued me. I've never looked on their website, but I wonder if they tell you where they're sending you, and do you have any say in the matter? It would be my luck they'd send me to Fargo, ND in January, and south Florida in August.

On the outside, it looks kind of neat though, especially if you work out of a different city each time you fly out

No. I'm home every weekend and I still feel the need to carry much more with me than I could fly with. I have tools to fix most minor issues, spare lights and pigtails, and enough stuff inside the truck to feed and water myself without buying food while I'm out on the road.

It's not a bad gig, once you figure out how to pack, If you don't live in a decent freight area like Miami. You'll get "normal" wages as opposed to the crud offered in Florida and actually be able to get home.

I've been also looking into Schneider Jet-Set as well. any tankers drivers doing this now?If so do you like it? They say its 3 weeks on 5 days off, which sounds nice to me. But was wondering about the mile avg a week?

The 5 days are not consecutive they split 3 here and 2 after you return. Speak with a a recruiter you will get all the details

This just doesn’t sound like a good deal for the driver. Something else Schneider’s ‘never driven a truck’ management came up with.
Why don’t they take all that money spent flying you around, and pay you instead?
I also agree with the posts on taking stuff with you. No way.
I would face the fact that I’m not going to get home often. Get a realistic decent OTR job.
