I'm in it for the first year, come what may. My threshold for bulls**t is higher than most. They want me to drive, I'll drive. Sit around, I'll sit around -- in the dock or at home. The whole thing is about working your way up. After a year, I'll find a better company -- but there's no reason to rule out being happy at Schneider. We'll see.

Oh yes -- that (Monitor-Merrimac Bridge) is your escape route to avoid going over the bridge on 64 E. Will take a few more turns but is always worth it, because anytime from 7AM to 7PM, you WILL get stuck going East (and often enough West) on 64 between Hampton and Norfolk. The road is a clogged artery.

As one newspaper described the 664 tunnel: "One More Crossing, One Less Headache."

They said "between $38 and 42k". Will be less, probably, but I don't care. It is enough for my needs.

You know, my only real worry in all this are logbooks. I don't understand the system at all. Not very good at abstract reasoning.

Read the post by logsus I think.
At first it seems crazy then it starts to make sense.

Tried applying with Schneider last week, apparently the recruiter tried to call once the next day when I was at the grocery store and I missed her call. I called back the next day and the recruiter was "well we tried calling you yesterday" and I was "well I am calling you back to get a job at Schneider" the recruiter was talking as if I was waisting her time is how I felt. She asked the regular "Do you have any felonies, do you have any accidents, do you have a traffic history?" (I do have one speeding ticket in the past 10 yrs but that shouldn't be a problem). So she sets me up for a phone interview a week later (tomorrow in fact). They dont seem to be in need of any new bodies, not very enthusiastic about signing me up like other companies have been, I am really needing to start soon though and this recruiter has me perplexed.. Anyone have a more enthusiatic recruiter I can talk to at Schneider?

If you have already filled out the online app, my next step would be to request to talk to another recruiter. They shouldn't have a problem with that.

There isn't much that they can tell you anyway, other than where you will be attending orientation.

The pay and benefits, and any other information you need is there on the company website. All the recruiter is there for is to talk it up and make it sound better.
