Yes, but that'd eliminate the need for a lot of drivers, just wind up the existing OTR guys to go, then Intermodal the rest.

Trust me, You don't want to work for Schneider.I'm an O/O with them and looking to leave. You won't get any miles. Told them I'd be ready 12/08 # 0900 they gave me a load that pays 500 miles and doesn't deliver till 12/10 # 0830. This has been going on for awhile. No one can pay bills with those kind of miles.

I am amused and sadden by what this person has to say about Schnieder

See I talked to alot of people before applying with Schnieder and they all said very good things about this company.

So in March of 07 I decided to put in my application, I did it over the internet and recieved a call very prompt. I talked to a women by the name of Angie, She was really into getting me into the schooling and to go forth with this company..The only problem that held me up was 3 seatbelt tickets which made my licence suspended (I was driving the hole year of 06 on a suspended licence and my State didn't issue me a letter to stat they were suspended) So Schnieder told me they couldn't proceed with the application process until I cleared up my seatbelt tickets and gotten my licence reinstated which then they said in 6 months I can reapply and everything will be good, they said the only thing that was holding me back was the suspension, Angie told me that once I got that cleared up I would be good to go.

So I did that and while I waited my 6 months, I studied and took my tests at the licence branch and passed all of them except for one which I had to take again and that was General Knowledge.

So September is now here, and I call Angie up and let her know I have taken care of the Seat Belt tickets and the suspension. So she then stats well it looks like we are good to proceed with the application, which she still made me fill out another app. and send her my information, which then we set up for November 5th to take the DOT physical which I passed and then it became the friday of the 9th I get a call from Angie stating my paperwork is completed and I am good to go, she gave me the time which was 7:30 the morning of the 23rd and I would be catching the Lamers Bus or whatever the name of the bus that was going to take me up to Green Bay, I also recieved the info on the Hotel I would be staying at which was the Baymont, and I have there number now (Which I don't need). She even told me Saturday morning that I would have a Continental Breakfast at 6:15 am

Well it is now November 15th the day after I finished out my 2 weeks with my present job and I recieved a phone call late night around 8 pm and its Angie on the phone stating, "Well I have some bad news for you!!!" our safety department turned down your application!!!! I was shocked, I didn't know what to think, she is telling me I am not going now after she stated last friday my paperwork was completed and I was ready to go, I asked her why! she couldn't give me an answer at first. I told her you said my paperwork was completed? why now are you doing this? she still didn't answer me, the phone was quiet, then she stated out of the blue it was the seatbelt tickets you acquired in 05. I then said, well in March of this year you told me as long as I pay my seatbelt tickets off and reinstate my license that there would not be a problem, why now is there a problem? she came back to me and said well I can get ahold of Safty and see if we can correct this, and I said ok! So now I am on the phone and listening to dead air, and then she was back on the phone after a couple of minutes and stats to me that Safty said there is nothing they can do about it" I then spoke, and said, I have already invested money into this, I have quit my job because you made this out to be a forsure thing, I have bought over 300 dollars worth of clothing for this and now your telling me in March you lied to me? your telling me when I called you in sepember that you lied to me as well, and now last friday you lied again? I said, "how can you sit there and get someones hopes up and then crush them.. and she started to speak and while she was talking it was just a muffle because I was soooo ticked off I just hung the phone up on her

I started thinking after that conversation and the whole situation, that it wasn't just 3 lies this company told me. Everybody told me Schnieder was a good company and they would treat you right???? now I am wondering what they were smoking????

Now I don't know about anybody else, but any Company that sits there and leads a person on and lies to them, is not a really good company I don't see how they can lay their heads down at night knowing what they do is wrong...

So since this person above in the Quotes thinks so highly of Schnieder then I wish them the best of luck getting screwed over... he/she needs to just bend over right now, you know do it early and get it over with first so he/she knows what he/she is up against...

Will I ever go back to Schnieder and apply, Hell NO! I will never give them the time and day ever again

Will I let anybody know what I think of Schneider, yes I will. Will I referr them to go to Schneider #### NO!!!! I wont!!!

That same scenario would happen at many OTR trucking companies.

They could care less what you invested in applying to work for them and you should never quit a job until you are hired at the end of orientation . Take a leave of absence if possible.

Many recruiters are just seeing if you meet the basic requirements for hire and do not want you to loose interest buy telling you you might have trouble getting approved by safety. And a history of not wearing a seatbelt is a safety dept red flag.

All new drivers should get their application approved through company management before stepping on a bus and should not think that a offer to attend orientation is a promise to hire. Because it isn't.

By the way, many drivers go to orientation before they are turned down for employment and shown to the gate. At least you where sparred that.

I get what you are saying about safty and the read flags on seat belt tickets but I delt with Central refrigerated transport before coming to Schnieder and CRT didn't care about the SeatBelt Tickets, But for Schnieder to tell me in march as long as I got them taken care of I would have nothing to worry about. There is no excuse for them leading me on and telling me everything was done (when it wasn't) and I would be ready to leave on the 23rd that is ######## and that was a crappy thing to do.

But what angered me, wasn't the fact that I invested into this it was the fact they lied to me, Bear faced lied to me and kept doing it, and in my books thats not the way a company should conduct their selves.

I understand when I go to orientation I am still not concidered hired until I get through their 2 weeks...and yes I thought about just taking a leave of absence from work, but I couldn't do that...not with the type of job I had, which by luck I got back the same night I got screwed by Schneider. I just know if this is the way Schneider conducts their selves with a potential hire, they wont have to worry about me ever applying with their company ever again

I figure I am just going to go to Roadmaster and pay the 6500 dollars and do my schooling there, since so far I haven't had any good success with Company paid training programs to learn how to drive.

Atleast I passed my DOT physical and got my CDL learners permit

I will just wait for spring now to go with Road master

I will never apply or referr anybody to Schneider and their Shananagans or for that matter any other company that has the same runaround as Schneider

I took a load a while back to I think a Sears distribution Whse and there was a sea of pumpkins out on the pad. I could not believe what rolled out of those pumpkin trucks as they got out to go to the shipping office. I just shook my head and realized what a uphill battle it would be to change public perception about trucking with so many drivers who did not care about themselves to at least look like they where a professional.

Of course their are good clean drivers at the pumpkin, but how can a company allow some of these people to represent them unless they just don't care because they haul anything, for any price?
