The driving time is 11 hours if they can get it in the 14 hour window. Your example will suffice though. The drivers are not going to receive a mileage rate change so in effect it is a pay cut of about 150 to 200 per week.

Add another company to the list; KLLM going down also, from 65 to 62. I have managed to sneak past it twice in 2 days at two different terminals. I'm still 65 but figure 3rd time will be the charm. I'm due a PM in about 3500 miles. I'll get turned down then I'm sure.

What has caused this huge increase in fuel costs?
Supply and demand.
We are short on supply because we can't drill for it (thanks EPA and tree huggers)
No new refineries in 30 years (thanks EPA and tree huggers)
The gov't fixed it LOL!!!! (thanks EPA and tree huggers) -
There is no shortage as our consumption hasn't gone up enough to warrant the rising fuel costs. As our economy tanks like the Titanic, our dollar becomes more and more worthless. Last year, it actually became worth less than the Canadian dollar. Its nose diving, and there isn't anything to back our dollar up. It used to be based on Gold, but now its based on nothing and we just keep printing the dollars out on paper sheet after sheet. Our government can't control its spending, to the point of being in billions / trillions of dollars in debt to other countries and we keep going deeper.
I heard an economist say the other day that for each cent the dollar loses in value, it goes up 4 bucks for each barrel of oil.
But I guess youd like our worthless dollar which is worth less and less each day, to buy the SAME barrel of oil.
We dont NEED any more refineries. You think that every refinery in the country right now is actually running? Many are shut down. But yeah, lets point fingers at the EPA because they are a tiny bit picky about where to put a extremely huge gaseous, kaboom-able refinery and the dangers it can cause to the environment. -
I don't think so. If more house moms did not drive Yukons and Esclades to take their sreaming brats back and forth then we would be fine. Every time you see a Hummer and its not in a War then something is wrong. American's will feel the pinch that the rest of the world has felt for decades. So when its time to buy your next car or truck is a Pete 379 your best choice? Or can you make a better choice in your big truck and your 4-wheeler.
PS do not get your political views from some radio talk show that is high half of the time. Rush Li****** -

Why don't they just take us down to 45 MPH?
I think they should just leave the governors alone and charge more to the customer, who then passes the cost to their customers: regular American consumers, who will then become outraged and demand changes that they should have demanded 20 years ago. Most of them can't afford to buy any of the crap we haul anymore anyway.
There's going to be a cracking point somewhere, you can't just have energy prices increase faster than inflation forever.
Maybe we'll just have to go back to hauling freight the way they did in the 1800's. -
