I am wondering how a drop n' hook deal with Schneider would look like for a team wanting 4k-5k miles a week...

Could you get the miles? What does tha pa per mile look like? Does anyone have any experience with them? What would pay better, reefer or dry van? Is running with your own dry van a better deal, or is drop n' hook the way to go?

If you want to run team then drop/hook is the way to go. Leasing onto any carrier with your own authority is just a waste of money in my opinion. From what I hear the teams are doing okay, but they are also getting a 34 restart almost everyweek. Schneider does have a program that allows you to run your own authority and pick loads off their load board and use there trailers (even when you pull your own freight). I think the program is called PowerPlus or something similar to that. But if you don't have your own customer base I really don't see the benefit of this program sense you will be pulling the loads off the load board at the same price you get being leased to them. The pay differs and I can't currently tell ya what a IC team is making per mile over here. By the way the last I knew Schneider only had IC teams on the mileage plan. The Choice program is still frozen and I don't see any team loads on the boards.

After all fees, does the pay fall around $1.20/mile?

It looks like CHRobinson all over again. Talked to the guy and it sounds like they just don't have a system set up that pays the driver any more than the next guy.

If I'm understanding right...he's asking if you can get loads off Schneiders board without actually being leased to them or anything and what does it pay.

Yes...you can. I don't have all the details such as pay and all that...but I used to work for a small company that pulled a lot of their freight (mostly John Deere stuff...lawnmowers). It was however usually on their (Schneider's) trailer but the company I worked for kept that orange trailer, and used it as their own, until I got back around to drop it where I picked it up.

You can do the same for Werner.

And you're probably right...CH Robinson all over again.

Well I guess if they ask what your MC number is so "they can get into the system" that is your cue to call their bluff. If they ask that question it means that they want to know who you are. If they don't know you, get ready for $1/mile. They may even spend some time on the phone with you pouting about how everyone is undercutting eachother and that he isn't even making any money on the load. I really don't mind them offering crap loads. I just don't like it when they lie.
