Look at Magnum out of Fargo, North Dakota too
They hire out of Georgia and have a good training program. Decent money too

I don't understand your statement. You're implying that one can't make great money pulling dry van. I guarantee I make a killing doing dry van and don't have to work extremely hard to do it.

I say put your resume on Indeed.com and state your intentions and what company you prefer to work for. The company I'm with contacted me through that resume and it's the highest paying job I've ever had.

But personally, Your biggest worry for the 1st year or so is just to drive safe. Take your time, double check your route with a GPS and a map (yes, both of them and even a satellite map with your smartphone if necessary), study the areas you'll go through often when you have the time, and talk to other drivers about the best routes and get tips and tricks from them.

When I first started driving truck, I was not a natural at it like a lot of these other guys are. I made nearly every mistake in the book. I found out that the key to being a successful driver is just being patient and not being in a hurry. Because when you take your time and do things right, you'll end up saving time in the long run.
