Hey all,
I was hoping to get some feedback about how strict Schneider is about their drivers about their DOT physical. I have some interest in possibly driving for them, and I'm generally in great health. Only a few years ago, I had to have a kidney removed, and while my health has been great since an unfortunate side effect has been that I consistent have trace amounts of blood in my urine. Now I've had countless tests on it, and all come out showing great renal and urinary health, but I know that while you can't be disqualified for that by FMCSR I'm just afraid Schneider might have an issue.
I'm gonna call a recruiter and ask about it, but seeing as I'm sure Schneider would put me through their own exam I was gonna get some feedback from the drivers to get an idea on what they might think.

i have not heard of any company that would disqualify based on that. the big dq'ers are drugs, alcohol, uncontrollable high blood pressure, uncontrollable diabetes, and uncontrollable sleep apnea. and i guess any pain severe enough to require narcotics on a regular basis (my wife couldnt drive a truck...her psoriatic arthritis requires that she take a couple different disqualifying drugs just to function) as long as you dont have pain that requires heavy drugs, i cant imagine that your "condition" would be the thing that disqualifies you no matter where you applied.

They will accept dot physical from an outside source if you feel more comfertable doing that. They accept mine. But they send me to there testing site to do the drug screening. On their drug screen they take both a urine sample and a hair sample just did mine this morning

I have been nervous about the drug thing. I got shot in 03 in the knee and don't hafta to take lortab daily but when weather changes and gets cold it bothers the knee and I take but have script and all that but I would hope that wouldn't disqualify me because I can't help it. I was a cop 19 years and they had no problem with having to take and yes was on duty when I was shot by my own dang partner. But will this disqualify me. Because I'm in refresher school because haven't drove and have job lined up and orientation to begin so I dunno. I certainly won't hide it at all I will tell them and I walk w no limp or anything but have a of titanium in my knee and when it gets cold it gets cold and bothers me. Any help would b great. Thanks
