If you got your CDL they should take you. SNI will train you to THEIR standards then the Walmart Acct at Sterling, Illinois will train you more for that specific job. Details, I was on their Gordonsville VA account for Walmart. Easy job. Each location is different, you may be sent to help out other Walmart DC locations from time to time. If you don’t have Sam’s Club, good! They can be difficult to get unloaded at.

You take priority at stores because your considered a Walmart driver once hooked to that Walmart trailer. You will hook up to a loaded trailer and hit 2-5 stores per run. Stores unload, you just open the trailer door and pull stickers. If you have a reefer trailer, you open the partition walls also. They weigh about 15 pounds and are on a pulley system. You then head back to the DC with the empty. We were paid empty miles and loaded miles along with stop pay after the first store and mileage pay between the stores if a different area code.

If you run hard, expect to burn up your 14 clock daily. The pay, where I was at, averaged $800 take home every week but our network of stores was 285 and the majority were within 2 hours of the DC. So we got 2-3 runs in every night/day. The more runs you can do, the more you can make. You also will see backhauls which pay very nicely. Those are typically drop n hooks but some are live loads.

I had a 6 month contract after doing a refresher course. Guy I started with had zero experience and had a 2 year contract. Could be 2 years, could be less as drivers are needed pretty badly. Ours had parking for all of us, we had drivers who were 3 weeks on 1 week off. I was 1 week on, 2 days off. Be advised, during major holidays you will have a schedule change. They require all hands on deck. Being PT though, they may or may not change yours up. As for your distance......it’s up to the recruiter honestly. They may do it as zip code to zip code and say your actually 95 miles away and therefore eligible. Or say your actually 115 miles away and ineligible. I cannot say as I’m not a recruiter for them. All you can do is fill out an application and start the process. You can always say no thanks and it’s not a big deal. I filled one out, was told I needed a refresher course. I didn’t have $6k laying around. 3 months later Schneider called me up and asked if I would be interested in doing a refresher that THEY paid for, paid flights, paid hotel in return for a 6 month contract. I jumped all over it and didn’t look bad! Sometimes walking away briefly works out better as all trucking companies are desperate for drivers, especially on the Walmart accounts for SNI.

$6 grand for refresher course. To expensive , even if a contract. Something happens, that u owe. Sounds like racket, there a new cdl training that 6 weeks long, 5 days a week, start up in end month, 4 miles from home, cost is just under 4 thousand , unfortunately that or Schneider training, I couldn't afford to go without pay that long, I have quit 1 pt job to go local school an would never be able go 2 months without more income
