Several drivers that I went through training with are working "part-time." One guy works 6 days on, 2 days off. Another just comes in when he wants to and works for that day doing local run arounds and such. I was offered a program doing 6 days on, 3 days off. But it was slip-seating, so I turned it down. Schneider will work for you for TAH, that has been my experience so far.

I tried that. Instead of being out a few days, they had me out a week and a half. I only got a little over a thousand miles. The closest they could get me to Dallas was Houston. It is slip seat. You can't leave anything in truck. Thsoe Dallas so called DLB"s aren't worth a squirt. I wouldn't fall for it. Find something local.

I did part time for 4 years, gave my DBL the schedule I wanted to work, he told me which Truck and I was off, if I took more than 4 days off I had to clean out the Truck, other wise if I stayed out 3 - 14 days and only took 3 days off, kept the same truck, pays the same as any Regional Job,,, miles. Never missed any days off I requested.

Took off from November to the end of March and back out the same way, worked perfect for me. 70 years old now and may go back out in March.

I think working 6 days and 2 off or 3 off is working full time in most peoples minds. Sounds like a great schedule except for the slip seating part. I thinks they also have a 5 1/2 days on and your 36 hr reset at home and no slip seating.

Did SNI make you do anything special when you took off for months at a time or did you just come right back as nothing happened?
