few companies have the military apprenticeship programs: schneider, conway, roehl, tmc, and werner.
i believe roehl is for two years and thus after one year the amount of money is less..
make sure you attend the cdl schools that are accredited by VA to have tour school paid fully by va...the va also paid me around 1300 plus book stipend for the month i was in that private cdl school. the amoynt will depend on the zip code of that school...e5 with dependents rate. you must be full time to get 100% amount fir bah.. online classes are less i believe. where is your home of record? when is your ets date? pick a good school.. my school paid me 150 dollars/wk for gas coz i didnt want to stay at a motel for the month of achool period..they also covered all costs in obtaining my cdl class a license plus haznat endorsement for fbi fingerprint and background checks.. so shop around wisely and use ur benefits.. are u qualufied fir 100% post 911 qualified? not Montgomery gi bill.. make sure to time your
ets date so you can fill out the form from va to get your letter of eligibility..it takes about 2 weeks. update your info on ebenefits online.. once u get your letter, you take it to your school and they will fill out the certificate of enrollment to va.. depending on how long your cdl course is but make sure to do tge 160 hrs minimum inorder for those companies to consider hiring you. good luck.

my home of record is right outside philly. warminster pa. i have about a year and a half left still. im currently deployed and sit in front of a computer for 12 hours so getting information. i will google va approved schools. i am assuming this will take your gi bill? and when you say full time assuming you mean full time at school? also, would me having a top secret clearance help at all with jobs? doubt it but figured i would ask. my game plan is when i am closer to getting out, roughly 3 months, will start applying for schools. would like to get all endorsments and try a job with either roehl, schneider, or TMC because i have heard the best things for those 3. would also want tanker or flatbed. because of pay.

You have ways to go my friend.. what is your mos? why trucking? If your intel, you shouldn't have much trouble landing a good job. You can study for all written exams and take them all together: general knowledge, air brakes, and combination for your class a permit..you can also take all endorsement as well...double/triple, tanker, and hazmat. this way, when you pass your pre-trip, skills, and road test...you will have all endorsements showing on your id than carryung extra piece of paper to show ur endorsements... depending on states, you have to take ur hazmat written first and than go online with TSA to fill out application..then go to nearby office to do your fingerprint. it took me only one week to get it approved. tsa will send info to dmv within 2-3 days of your clearance.. And yes, i meant full time cdl student. why not conway? that was my first choice but since im from ca, i would rather go with schneider due to closeness of fontana terminal.. im planning on doing regional dry van. i figure either way, your nit going to make mych money on your first year...so thats why im sticking with those companies to help financially with va paying me directly for the military app program. that will help me greatly until u get my one year experience so more better paying opportunities in the future.
keep your ears and eyes open. still long ways for you so just dont settle for truckung right aways. keep looking and searching. stay safe.

yea i know i have a ways to go, just getting all the info i can now ya know. always was interested in trucking. love them. just driving and being open is something i enjoy. my mos is 91f, small arms and artillery repair. i have my secret because i came in as EOD but failed the school, but kept the clearence. so just to make sure i have this right, i get my class a permit before school, and while i am in school get endorsed or do the endorsments before hand while doing the permit. only reason i didnt mention conway was because i dont know much about them. been looking into the other three and heard good things about them for the most part on this forum. also do you know anything about SAGE trucking school? its out near lebonon pa, which is where my aunt lives so i can live with her while i am going to school. and not exactly set on trucking yet, but good possibility

SWIFT has more bodies than trucks, so if you have some extra money in your back pocket, and a lot of time, SWIFT will work out fine. With just a little bit of trucking knowhow, the other two should get you to 30000 a year without trying. 36 to 40 plus, if everything goes well. Good Luck !

I don't know who you're kidding. When I was Net Ops local I never made more than 400 to 450 a week after taxes. When I went OTR with Werner it just got worse from there, I rarely even hit a 300 dollar paycheck on a TEAM account no less. I couldn't pay my bills and needless to say I had to leave that company Werner has more drivers to fill their seats, than they have freight.

I just heard that SWIFT has bought Central Refrigerated, you might want to look into that, see what's going on. Having that VA is a big plus, you earned it, so put it to good use. Thanks for serving our country !!!

everything seems correct besides the permit part.
The school you attend first and they will give u studying materials for the permit written test.
you shouldn't get a permit first, why spend your money..right?
permit test is usually within couple of days later after school training.
top secret is goid for only 5 years and secret 10.
