That's why I recommended flatbed (Cypress) to you earlier.

    No all-over-the-clock pickups & deliveries.

    Working mostly "normal" hours.

    Home most weekends.

    Enjoy normal sleep patterns.

    Live....don't just exist.

Not at all. It's actually not that difficult for me to make those switches. Mentally, I know what it is. I believe the most effective driver runs whenever he or she has to. I had to train myself to be prepared to run at any time around the clock. The driver that can do that, will have greater probability of staying busy. I've also learned to take naps at the shippers and receivers. You ain't gonna catch me on the phone, or up watching TV and playing games when I need to rest. Sometimes a run is intended to be a day run, but it gets delayed and still has to get to the next town. I'm not about beg dispatch to switch delivery times if it cam still get there when it's needed. If I'm delayed, guess who's taking a nap? When that load gets on the trailer, it's GO TIME!!! Lol

In time, you'll learn to adjust your sleep pattern to accommodate the demands of the situation.
It requires a little patience and discipline in order to rewire your mind to fight through the demands of one's circadian rhythm, but in time, this habit becomes second nature. I make sure that I'm up on the 10 hour Off-duty mark in order to travel the next 300 to 700 mile commute.
I don't like dealing with traffic, so I prefer to make any adjustments that will help me avoid it

I started my career with Covenant, was there for 6 months, and have been pulling tankers for the last 23 years.

Covenant isn't bad, but I like tankers a whole lot better.

    Tanker...
Driving tanker for Great Pumpkin is not a great job, but its a great start. That can lead you to much better liquid chem jobs, or Cryo
Those jobs pay nice, and very little night deliveries. And a plus if you like Safety videos and cards stating you watched it, to impress the gate guards
