I am curious to know more about this dedicated account with WalMart in Wintersville Ohio near Weirton WV. I would like to know...
- Is this a decent paying gig?
- Do you run mostly at night or during the day?
- Do you do both the reefer and dry trailers?
- What is the operating area for this DC?
- Is there any training involved?
I do know that the drivers slip seat from week to week. Can anyone tell me why it seems that this DC and the one in Bedford PA have the crappiest trucks that all seem to be on their last leg?
I'd appreciate the come back. Hopefully some one has the answers I seek?

Here is all I know about Wintersville.
1. There really is not a road made for trucks that leads to or away from Wintersville.
2. Don not take a shower at the terminal in Wintersville.
Hope this helps.

The Dollor General Account out of Zanesville, OH has some real POS trucks too. Some as old as 01-02s with 800+K
. When I called about the job awhile back it was like you said it was slip seat, 34-38K a year. All night driving. I think it was 300-400 radius form the DC I beleive, their web site tells you everything about it. If your new to trucking there was some training required.
Hope this helps. It was to far for me so I went with Dollor General. -
I was at the Washington Court House account. Lasted 2 weeks. Wal-mart dictates when the loads come out, then Green bay gets them, then they do the dispatch. Your DBL will not even know until Green Bay sends them. Get ready for alot at 14-18 hour days. This is from the time that you get up until back to bed again. You might get up at 9 and say that you are ready at 10 and get a load to pick up at 2 and get back to the yard at 4 the next morning. that was washington court house. if we were empty more than 60 miles from the oc after the 14 was up, we were told to stay where we were at and wait for dispatch before driving in. this way, not start the clock.

I ran out of there about 2 years ago.Lots of Pa back county running. The trucks aren't the greatest or the cleanest. And like someone said earlier don't take a shower there. You pull reefer and dry.I don't know if Wal-Mart is pulling all the dry yet like other grocery warhouses. You will drive day or night. You may start out on days then end up on nights. And to answer your question about Bedford,Pa is it's because of slip seating. It's the same at all SNI dedicated accounts.Drivers don't care about a slip seat truck.Only drivers that have assighned trucks take care of them. But you have to have 1million miles to get that.Money wise really depends on you how much you want to work.45 to 65k a year.Like I said,I ran out of there about 2 years ago and I hated it.Not the work but the showers there sucked. And running in Pa all back roads just took so much time between stops.30 miles takes about an hour to drive.Of course me not knowing the area contributed also. Now the facilities may be better now if Wal-Mart has their own drivers running dry because they have a little pull to get things done.Like I said its been awhile since I've been there.Hope this helps.
