    Did you get my PM?

Schneider does not have an in-house school any longer.....unless they've restarted their program very recently! They are also kinda picky about the private schools and community college programs they accept.

The recruiter didn't tell me much. She just got the ball rolling. No fluff, no "Swift's the greatest", NO PROMISES! I liked the no promises part and the strictly business part. Maybe she took note of my age (56) and figured she'd be out of her league if she tried any BS. I really think she was just doing her job, i.e., get me from Point A to Point B! I do recommend that, once you've submitted your application on-line, that you make a courtesy call to make certain it was received and that it is someone's hands. After that, communicate as much as possible through e-mail.
The recruiter will send you an email with attachments that explains pretty much everything.

They do provide transportation via Greyhound to Millington but my son (35) is going to take me up to Millington next Saturday. I don't see the need to have a POV there.

You've asked about pay. I don't expect to see any pay whatsoever until I've been out with a trainer for at least two weeks, so basically I expect to deal out of my own resources for at least a month to 5 weeks. There are plenty of unknowns but keep in mind....many have gone before you, there is a system in place, work with the system, lower your expectations, learn as much as you can before making a final decision. There's tons of stuff to be learned here on the forum, not just about Swift but about living and surviving as a trucker. Latch onto some of the members who "tell it like it is". I don't mean the whiners and moaners, I mean the ones who shoot straight about the good and the bad but have maintained their professionalism throughout.

There a quite a few Swifties who post regularly here. Read the Swift threads to find out who they are and what they're all about.

DO NOT RUSH INTO THIS! I'm an older wannabe but I've taken 7 months to research, both about the industry and about my own personal fitness for it. I'm going into it with realism, optimism and caution and topping those things off with some excitement and determination.

Good luck! I'll help where and when I can.

Hey joker. Have you looked at the Schneider threads on here? Go to, "Motor Carrier Questions". Look for Schneider, and hit your key pad. There is a lot of info on there. If you don't see what you want, ask.
You could wait until Monday and call them as well. I've found they really don't lie. If you'd like, I'll give you the name of my recruiter when I hired in.
NO, I'm NOT a recruiter, or trainor, and will never be either. You will NOT get my ID number so I collect a bonus. Hope that dispels any notions some may have.:biggrin_25525:

I agree with you 100% never jump into any offer unless you research and weigh all of your options:biggrin_25525:
