FMCSA Hours of Service rules have two options in regards to how many hours of work are allowed in a "cycle". The predominate is 70 hours of 'work' in 8 days. The other is 60 hours of 'work' in 7 days. 70/8 tends to be more efficient for OTR companies, while 60/7 is better for local operations.

Ok, 70/8 can't be that bad can it?

    Well...it depends on....:
    • how good (or bad) your dispatch is
    • how well (or not) you are compensated for any delays/downtime
    • how respectably you are treated (or not) at/going into your assigned stops
    • how tight your loads are assigned...from one load to the next -- to be punctual, you may only have time for a 10-hr break (but no more) -- been there, done that....
    • other factors that I'm surely overlooking at the moment

If you want health insurance work someplace else.
Schneider has the universally hated United Health plan with the $12,000 out of pocket.
Yes, you read that right. Twelve thousand dollar deductible. After that you're off the hook.
You would think that recent events would reveal how hated United Healthcare is and Schneider would take the hint and do better by its drivers, but dont hold your breath. Paying five or six grand a year just to carry a card that claims you have "insurance" is a bad bad deal.
Steer clear of this corporate stupidity.
