schools and money etc... anything I should know???
I dont mind swapping state licences if needed for awhile..

I live in Ohio and went to School in Indiana.

I had to bring alot of information and documentation with me to school. I got a letter form the school giving me a temporary residence / address, and a certificate stating I was a student (not specific to driving schools but to secondary education). That qualified me to get an Indiana license. With those forms from the school, and the normal documents like SS card, Birth Certificate, etc, I was eligible to get an Indiana license. I had to basically start from scratch. I had to forfeit my Ohio DL, take a written test to get a regular Indiana DL. Then I was able to proceed to get my temporary permits for CDL. Once I passed on my CDL testing, I drove from Indiana to Ohio, and forfeited my Indiana CDL, got an Ohio CDL (using a utility bill to now prove I was actually a resident of Ohio).

Basically it is easy if you have all of your documentation, which the school will have a specific list of what to bring to make it very easy. However, in my class, I bet half the people did not bring the documents that the school said would be required. Even though they were told verbally and it was on page one in bold print of the school literature. It held them up from several days to a week to get it fixed.

Lastly, I would stay away from doing your hazmat in your schooling state. The process takes longer than you will likely be in school for, so it is easier to add it on your license in your home state. Trust, these words are from experience.

    Good Luck.
