    Heres the course/schooling I want to go for. The local trucking companies recomended this one.

    The course is 2930.00 for 3 weeks.

    6 Days in class then the rest in the truck.

    I will learn both transmissions.

    The school is recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training.


    Heres the D-Z part.


    COURSE OUTLINE (D-Z LICENCE)


    1. In class - one week (53 hours)


    2 day approved air brake endorsement
    border crossing procedures
    pre-trip inspections
    basic vehicle operation
    log books
    cargo security
    defensive driving
    dangerous goods
    map reading
    trip planning
    hands on experience in our yard with the trucks you will be driving


    2. In vehicle - 16 hours of personal instruction time

    TRAINING EQUIPMENT
    Training for the D-Z licence takes place in a multi-gear straight truck.



    ACCREDITATION
    Upon completion of our "DZ" training course at Tri-County Truck Driving Training, you will receive:


    Air Brake Endorsement Certificate
    Straight Truck Course Certificate
    Resume
    Income tax receipt
    Job search assistance

    didn't know there were only 2.

    3 weeks isn't long enough to give you a good understanding on the operation of a truck. Especially when 1 week of that is spent in a class room.

    i should amend that.

    If you're JUST going for straight truck, it's not bad, but for combination then no way.

    That was for Dump.

    Theres auto/semi auto and standard trans in trucks isnt there?

    I am having a hard time finding the best place in my area for learning truck. The local truckers say this place.

    But I might as well learn A-Z because theres a lot more going for it and still drive dump, right?

    they're "manual" but there is a big difference between them.
