All I'm saying is hiring an employee does not automatically show a person cares about others.

This discusion started with Dave trotting out his Navy vaccination story as he was sparring with mjd4277, which Dave thinks shows his tenacity and dedication. I think it shows recklessness and dishonesty, and that Dave will lie to advance his own interests without regard for the impact on others. For some reason Dave tagged you to show his altrusim.

From your posts you seem happy working for Dave. Thats great, it works for you. But your relationship (both professional and personal) with Dave doesn't change the way he has interacted with me and others on this forum over the years.

And what do you say to those who suffer the consequences, thus their liberty is endangered (death), by the actions of others who make the wrong choices, for the whole, in order to exercise their individual liberty?

Notice how the countries with stronger socialist policies have a far better control over this virus. If we can't, as individuals, properly make good choices with our individual liberty, then socialist policies will become a reality to counter those poor choices. Our country is made up of a balance of these powers.

 

I thought the topic here was masks. There are a couple of posters here that obviously look for any excuse to not wear one, This attitude has contributed to helping to make the USA one of the worst on our planet in controlling Covid 19.

Please consider the territory called Hong Kong. Considerate to others, the population is 7.6 million and population density similar to New York City. As of last week, they had racked up a total of 7 deaths from Covid 19.

I would proudly temporarily give up a tiny piece of my " constitutional rights" if tens of thousands my fellow Americans had not had to die or suffer in the past few months as they have.

Not to mention the hundreds of thousands who will have major health problems for the rest of their lives, as well as their family members who have to pick up those pieces.

 

Can I have what you are smoking if you believe any numbers coming out of China?

Luckily you have people fighting for your rights even if you are willing to give them away. Your kids will think them. After all, when has any government, and specifically USA ever given away any power without a lot of fighting?

 

And who are you projecting to be fighting and for what? Abuse of individual liberties? Or a cohesive country with balance of social and individual rights? What's to give away? We only do it to ourselves.

 

Things change. Products evolve. Does a 1955 Chevy look like a 2020 Chevy? Aren't you going to complain the government mandated seat belts, padded dashes, airbags, emission controls, etc.? Yet a new Chevy is far superior to the old one. We aren't talking about something that is uncomfortable. We are talking about something that can kill you. Wearing the mask isn't for YOUR protection, it's for mine, and vice-versa. I don't like them either, but I don't want to be responsible for causing death to anyone, whether it be in a truck or coughing on them.

 

Oh stop with the cliches'.
