Which is how it should be. You choose where to do business, they can also choose how they want to do business. If they lose money on paid parking then I would be they’d change back.

I used reserved and paid parking a lot. Generally less riffraff, generally easier parking spots so you don’t have to worry about getting hit, a lot of times no neighbors. Some see value in it, some don’t. But truckers mostly have the attitude they’re entitled to free parking because they drive a truck.

Shoemakers in Lincoln is a mess, but the word on the street is they’re getting north of $350 a month from all the locals that park there, and people still buy fuel there, and I guarantee they’re making more on parking than if they run the locals off and didn’t charge the OTR trucks.

Because the gov't demands that truck to be parked for 10 hours, and god knows they ain't paying for it.

    Beat me to it!

I occasionally reserve a spot at a Pilot/Flying J if I know I’m going to be getting there during prime parking time. Somehow paying with points stings less than spending my money, even though it’s pretty much the same thing. If I get there and there’s an open free spot, I’ll cancel my reservation.

People used to spend money at truckstops, be it food or whatever. Everyone shops at Walmart these days and they don’t spend a dime where they park, but they’ll leave a mess for the place to clean up. Yes, truckstops are overpriced. Yes, when I was running over the road I prepared meals at home. Yes, I also paid for parking because it was convenient and made my life easier.

Paid parking is a business model. If someone chooses to go that way only time will tell if it was a wise choice for them or not.

I didn't realize they were Soliciting to Truck Stops. Every time they are on the radio they CLAIMED to be getting NEW parking spots from random places that would have never been thought of before had it not been for them. I was 100% on board with that business model. Now it just seems like they're just going after low hanging fruit. Didn't take them long to go the lazy route. We have to assume they are talking to Love's about this. If they get Love's parking spots, that will be the end of any private sector free parking, as they are the last "Holdout" of the majors. You think you've heard truckers asking the government for help before, wait until that happens.

Ive seen on truckerpath alot of their places on the west coast seem to just be random dirt parking lots that someone owned before and looks like they bought em out.. lot of the places don't even have facilities , just a parking spot in a gravel lot... out west u can pretty much find those for free anywhere , why pay 20 dollar a night for crap like that

I saw one on the app. $50 a day. That’s insane. I have used it though and it was great when I did for $20 a night. Was in MA.

As for reserved. I love it. Knowing I have a spot at 2am. Pilots I don’t rely on. They won’t move anyone. Jacksonville FL is famous for it. Don’t waste your money. Most TAs are good though.

I see that some of there spots are at at truck stops like the Flying J in Mesquite, NV I believe. It doesn't make any sense because FJ already has their own reserved spots. That's why I thought it was a little shady.
