screwed up my life

    L:biggrin_25510:et me tell you a story about a co called seward motor freight of seward nebraska. i was driving a 04 peterbilt with 897453 miles on it . iwas coming thru ia and a 4 wheeler pulled off the side of the road in front of me i had no place to go so i hit my brakes to keep from hitting it. well my load shifted and knocked a hole in the side of trailer. THEY CHARGE ME $3,000 PLUS TURN MY TRUCK DOWN FROM 65 TO 60 MPH. NOW SOMETHING ELSE ON DEC.6th MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT IT TOOK 3WEEKS TO GET A TRANS. PULLED OUT OF A OLD TRUCK SITTON ON YARD THE ANOTHER WEEK TO GET IT SHIP TO OKLAHOMA CITY,OK KW DEALER.SO THATS 4 WEEKS OF NOT MAKING ANY MONEY NO LEASE TRUCK. SO I CUOLD KEEP WORKING. SO I QUIT. NOW THEY HAVE A ABANDING VEH. ON ME. SO NOW I CANT EVEN GET A JOB.AND I DIDNT EVEN DO THAT THE TRUCK WAS IN THE SHOP. I HAD NO MONEY THEY TURNED MY FUEL CARD OFF SO I COULDNT EVEN GET ANY MONEY. SO #### THIS COMPANY IN THE ###..........................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO BEWARE STAY AWAY

    Just one of many ugly sagas in the transportation industry... don't give up, there are companies out there that don't buy into that bulls___. Sure, they're hard to find in Obama's economy, but they do exist. Start with fleetdirectory.com and the 'Transport' column of Craigslist... you'll figure it out. Good luck!!! :biggrin_2556:

    There was the small matter of the hole in the trailer from the panic situation that YOU got YOURSELF into!

    When you see a car,truck,whatever sitting on the shoulder you never assume that it's just gonna stay there! You ALWAYS assume that it's gonna pull out at the worst possible time and prepare accordingly...You either slow down or change lanes to prepare for the worst case scenario.

    I would have fired you "on the spot" when you shifted the load and wrecked the trailer due to you own poor judgement!

    Just another misuse of dac by these companies Ive seen this happen to others the way around this is to always turn your keys over to law enforcement then they cant get you for abandoment

    So.....Just so I understand correctly here, Your company is based ,say in California and you decide when you're in Florida that you've had enough and you just have to quit right now!

    So you just call the cops, Hand them the keys and walk away????
    How is that not abandonment?
    The company still has to recover the truck!
    What the hell are the cops gonna do with the truck?
