I thought Corinth only did live load/unload? I've never drop and hooked there.
-
I have to chime in on this one ....I delivered there ...dropped the Loaded trl in the door by the street...went to back / left and pick up my loaded trl....that could of just been left in the trl by CAT
-
Hmm just notice you said sealed??? Empty but was sealed ? Why? Or are u say that was under the load!
-
That looks better than the ones you used to get from UPS in Jersey.
Spend half an hour throwing busted pallets and refrigerator size boxes in the dumpster.
God forbid a union dock worker have to touch it. -
This happens at some locations. As was states I know of 3 of our customers that we drop loaded trailers and and they leave them "Empty" which means their pallets, soda bottles, plastic, etc. if it had a Conway seal on it then you got scum bagged if it had a CAT seal on it then you still got the shaft but atleast not from one of our own. On this note
drivers dropping/picking up in Hazleton stop throwing the rubber mats used to secure reels/paper rolls thrown everywhere there is talk of not letting us park overnight anymore there due to this. If you take them out stack them neatly as I pick then up when there since ive got a guy that gives me $2.50 a piece for them. It has gotten steadily worse with them thrown literally everywhere on the hill and some regional drivers rely/need the overnite parking privelage there.
Also stop sealing MT's to "save them". I call dispatch to check on hollow sounding trailers and if they are empty in Joplin I take them anyway and sometimes will check 10+ trailers and 1/2 will be "saved" "assigned" MT's and I unseal ALL OF THOSE. You screw over other drivers seeing as many times you will just be bobtailing up the road for your loaded and don't need and MT anyway. -
Not sure what to say here except that almost everytime I go to pick up an empty trailer I have to sweep it out, especially at a customer. You have some level of confidence at a Con-Way truckload yard that you wont have to, being that it is supposed to be swept out by the other driver who dropped it there. I sweep out every trailer I get, every time. But, most of the time when I pick up a trailer at a customer, including CWF yards I usually have to sweep the trailer. Maybe I am missing something in the story..but, it says you picked that up at a customer...sealed?

Well seeing that all of have assumptions,,let me "clear up" a few facts
1.I always do a drop & hook there(never have live anything, guess Im lucky
2.This was a LOADED sealed trailer at Corinth going to Pendleton In(The Prison)
3,All that trash was left in trailer before trailer was dropped,,it was all CONWAY FREIGHT SCRAPS(probably from Charlotte, thats the "cycle of these loads,CHarlotte-Corinth-Pendelton
Garbage doesnt magically get into a trailer all by its self, its the RESPONSIBILTY of every driver to sweep their respective empty
Professionals always do without thinking about it
SCRUBS are just lazy and leave it for the above,to do it for them
This is just the most crap I have ever seen left in a trailer
If it happens to you by all means do the same I did, properly dispose of said trash,,then contact your FM,they will take it from there
For those of you that are "proficient" with a broom Ithank you makes it easier for the rest of that are just doing our job
-
Haven't ran across the sealed save yet either. I was just questioning because all 4 loads I've done at Corinth were live unload. Picked an empty up at UPS today full of broken pallets, soda cans, and cigarette butts. While time I was sweeping it out I was choking on the dust it stirred up.
America is getting lazy, and unfortunately it's permeating this industry bedside all we do us sit on our ##### and listen to the radio, so they think...Last edited: May 9, 2012
