Hey Everyone, my name is Sean.

Let's see... things about me that might pertain to this board...

I have been a board moderator on several sites for decades so I'm not new to the internet forum scene.

I used to be a machinery dealer (lathes, mills..etc), so I have experience with trucking from the rigging side of things (I own a forklift, Johnson bars...etc).

I do not have a CDL, nor have I ever had one, but it looks like I will need to get one soon. It has always been within my power to get one, I've just chosen to live in the grey area of hot shot drivers because of technical leniency of it.

I've driven many consumer type loads (not all legal... I plan to be honest on this board). You know the deal... 25k of machinery pulled by a hopped up Dodge Cummins or RV titled FL-60...etc.

Vehicles I have owned that pertain to my experience level...

    Dodge 3500 Cummins dually
    FL-60 "Sportchassis".
    Int' 4700 crew cab
    Mostly medium duty stuff.

    Trailers
    30' gooseneck equipment trailer
40' step deck beavertail (sort of 3/4 sized one that fit my med' duty trucks)
    30', 40', and 45' "Toyhaulers".

I am joining this board because recently I lost my home (and machine shop) to being sued by some very dishonorable people with good lawyers and I have to move.

Because of this, I have purchased a used 45' dry van, and plan to purchase at least one more. These will contain my belongings while I find a new home somewhere in the country.

I also purchased an old (but nice) mobile CT scanner truck that I am converting to an RV since I really don't know where I'm going to live next.
This vehicle is 40', 35klbs, air brakes...22.5's...etc. I can register this in my state as an RV to get around the CDL requirement, but since I may need to be shuttling these dry vans around, it is more likely that I will just get the CDL finally. I suppose moving my own junk around may lead me to side employment as I have friends who work in the industry (drivers).

Anyway, I have a lot of questions about the dry vans, the DD 6-71 that powers my "RV", and I will have questions about having a CDL. I do Google everything I can, but sometimes it's just easier to ask on a forum and this looked like a good one to join. Hopefully my questions won't be too tedious.

I don't know what I can offer the board aside from being a machinist, and former rigger, but I will offer what I can when I come on.

So "Hi" to everyone, and I look forward to our discussions :)
