The bright headlights do help the driver see better, but then it blinds all other drivers. A few months ago I drove a rental truck with LED lights and it was possibly twice as bright as mine. You can see farther and wider.

I’ve always wondered who’s ending up in the ditch.
    • New drivers falling asleep.
    • Experienced drivers under the influence.
    • Drivers regularly working the graveyard shift.
    • Heart attack or other immobilizing health problem.
    • Voluntarily steering off the road to avoid collision due to inattention or lack of sufficient following distance.

No, I'm saying it not the guarantee you've been led to believe it is. I remember sitting in drivers ed and they show us a video of a bunch of kids in a car that goes in the ditch and proceeds to blow up, I'd rather be throw out than burned alive.

I will not say just kids kids at all, but I don't care who it is, if they have control of it when the tire blows, they will still have control of it. You can take the tire off the truck and control it on the road, I have seen it done for insurance purposes. I have seen, several times a wheel come off when a bearing goes, with power steering there is no reason to lose control period, IF you are holding the wheel.

I’m still waiting for my insurance discount, since use was mandated. I never got one.

Exactly, made it this far for years, First it was “please buckle up,”Then click it or ticket!!! I resent how their attitude changed as soon as the law passed. It should be a choice, even if a premium upcharge, for coverage. Yeah it’s probably safer to be belted in, but not guaranteed.

I don’t like these type of polls. Seems I remember Officers asking “ Were you wearing your seatbelt? It won’t be held against you, just for statistic purposes.” Steady building their case For mandating use. The standard answer to this poll should be “Always”.

A dot ask me once during an inspection if I had worn my seat belt. I ask him if je wanted the truth ( I was sitting in his car at the time) when he said yes. I told him I didn't even know if that old A model had one in it. He chuckled and told me the law said I should wear it, we will leave it at that. lol

I was in a serious wreck in my pickup once, and busted my head on the roof support, the trooper came to the hospital and ask me if I was wearing my seat belt. I told him I didn't remember, but I must have been as I always wear it. lol
