I don't do chiropractors. I went to one once and wound up in the hospital the same night for 29 days in traction. I have family members who swear by them and I'm glad it works for them. It just isn't for me. Do they still that seat cushion that you bought? Heat and massage sounds good.

I know a few people who use the seat cushions that are made out of big beads. I have never used one but they say they are great. IDK. I have used a couple of the heat/massage ones and they are all junk IMO. It's really one of those things that will be a trial and error as each person does not have the same definition of comfort.

I bought a seat cushion that you find in most of the major truck stops. It's gel
and is made in a honeycomb design. I'm trying to find a picture for you but as of
yet I can't. It works great for me, as soon as I find it I'll post it here.

If you're not in a hurry you can just get in the routine of daily stoppong by a McD's and ordering several big mack meals and supersize the fries. Do this for about a year and you'll develope a natural seat cushion. I've seen many truckers out there that have done this... :biggrin_2559:

No thank you. I had weight loss surgery last year to get rid of all that excess weight. Got rid of 130 pounds of it. That's why my butt needs some cushioning now.:biggrin_255:

Yeah, it's one of their "standard" items over amongst the 12 volt appliances, etc. Takes some experimenting to get the "fasteners" right an all but the thing works amazingly well. Sometimes I just run it for a bit right after I park for the night to take the day's tensions away before I hit the bunk. Seems to let me sleep better.

I was of the same mind about chiropractors. In Canada the "Govt Healthcare" treats em like witch doctors and I'd heard all the horror stories. But new tech is changing that too. This new Pro-Adjuster (Google it for more info) does away with the old stretch and twist treatments. When I went in I could hardly walk from the pain. This machine scans your back via computer disc by disc and uses vibration to move em back into place. Feels like someone tapping you with their fingers, no pain. Not an "instant cure", takes a couple of visits, but man it sure felt lots better.

Well son, you can laugh all you want. For all the Newbies, Wannabe's and Supertruckers out there; trucking is one of the hardest professions there is on spinal problems. Air ride seats be ######, your body is constantly twisting your lower back area as you drive along; your upper back/ shoulder area is constantly working because your arms are extended in front of you for hours on end. These are constant motions that your body is not designed for. Forget the "perfect posture" ####. Everybody slumps, etc after you've been driving awhile.

Now add in that the usual company truck is a few years old and has had several drivers maybe including a couple of grossly overweight mooses. Seats are spring and twisted, features like "adjustable lumbar" quit working long ago. El cheapo bunk mattresses (never much to begin with) are lumpy and worn.

There are many things you can "live with" and still work. I've torn my shoulder out of joint, busted both knees, smashed hands and fingers, etc, etc...... but your back can put you in a wheelchair permanent.

This may not be possible for you company drivers, but I'm going to say it anyway:

Besides bad problems, riding in the saddle for long periods of time can also cause problems with blood circulation in the legs. Aftermarket seats are expensive true, but after you use one, you will never go back to an OEM seat...ever!

I've often wondered if I offered to pay for the #### seat if they would let me upgrade because I think that driver seat has got to be one of the most important parts of the truck FAR more important then the extra lights, giant pipes, and yet I so rarely see money spent on them lol.
