    What a day!

Today was our second day behind the wheel where we actually did something. Did straight line backing and took my third try before I got the hang of it but I need more practice. Then I did the 45 alley docking. Now that was a trip. I was totally lost the first try. Second time around it got better but I need alot of work on that one. All the turning of the wheel to get lined up was rough. I need to work alot on that one. Then I did some shifting from 1st to 5th. That was the first time I got to use the accelerater. Double clutching takes a bit to get use to but I was getting it by the time the day was over. I felt some sense of accomplishment at the end of the day but I got a lot of work to do to get comfortable. But all in all it was fun and I learned some stuff. We got three more days of it this week before we get on the open road. We only have 6 people in the class and two trucks so we get plenty of wheel time plus we got a huge range to drive on because we are located on a old air force base with plenty of runway space

We have a Volvo and a Freightliner from Swift. The Volvo feels alot better to drive than the Freightliner and the gears are smoother in my opinion.

    Take care!

I am obligated to swift for 6 months after school. I found the school on my own from the local newspaper. I was orginally approved to go to the Swift Academy in TN untill I found a local one in the newspaper and it just happens that Swift was sponsoring the training and since it was in my hometown I chose to go to this one..lol

I will keep ya posted!! Greenville is located on the western side of the state right on the Mississippi river. US highway 82 goes right through the town and west into Arkansas. It is north of Vickburgs and south of Memphis. Driver Solutions was going to send me to ASU for USA Truck but I found this school here. I heard the ASU school was pretty good.

    Keep in touch!

I thought about them too as well as USX but I will get my 6 months in with Swift and see how it is going after that.

I have a cousin that lives in Fairbanks. Must be cold. :smt048
