Secondary air leak only when running

    new 2019 Volvo. Passes 1 min brake test with no air loss at all when engine off.
    When engine idling loses air 130psi to 104psi in 4 min only on secondary side. Compressor kicked on every 3-4 min.

    When’d driving it will not lose air if I’m pulling with engine under load. Will lose 1 pound every time auto transmission shifts or let up on throttle it loses steadily
    Any idea?

    Thanks speedyk. Crazy it only had 1000 miles when it started. I’ll try to get it in to the shop soon.
    If it was the air dryer or purge valve it would leak all the time wouldn’t it.

    You can try to isolate some of the airlines to get a feeling of where the leak is coming from. For example, idle your truck:

    a) with both brakes set
    b) with trailer brakes set, truck brakes released
    c) with truck brakes set, trailer brakes released

    You want to start the timer after the air maxes out.
