If you think it checks out then I’d go for it.

Get it dun, man! It’s a heck of a great deal! You’ll be makin’ fools outta all the naysayers here soon enough! Be a bawwwwwwwler! I’d get some straight pipes and a chrome shifter knob right off the bat.

The engine and transmission was rebuilt less than 50k miles ago so I don’t agree with you! As a company driver I’ve driven way worse condition trucks and never had any real issues with them. This elderly man has taken care of this truck and isn’t selling it because there’s a problem but because he’s sick cannot drive anymore.

Thanks man! I’m gonna try and negotiate the price a little more and then possibly move forward with it! I’ve driven the truck already and it’s beautiful! The transmission feels brand new and the pulling power of the engine is absolutely astonishing! I still want to do an oil sample ( which he recommended) and then hopefully sign the paperwork!

This is a definite plus. If you know this guy and trust him that buy the truck. If you can’t afford to get your authority then lease on to a good reputable company preferably one that has some direct shippers. But try to have some dry powder: cash, credit cards etc. As others have mentioned to much can go wrong and when it does it’s really expensive.
