What security precautions should we consider while on the road? Our youngest son will continue to live at our home. (Husband and wife team)

    ID theft?
    back up source of money?
    personal security / protection
    Home security
    carbon monoxide

Not even sure what to consider.

I am thinking of driving and my wife will go along as a rider only. I worry about safety also and have asked questions about truck stops , rest park etc ...

So many crazy people out there. I read somewhere that a rest area is a bad place for women getting raped. Can't remember where I read it or if it is even true but I would be a little nervous stopping late at night with no one around and just me and the wife.

Probably wont end up in that situation much but would be a little shakey.

Maybe you know this already but there is a couple who team and have a lot of videos on YouTube called the John and Jade show. They will answering questions you have.

    Good luck , be safe

If you look for trouble you will find it. Know what's around you. Anytime she gets out of truck for bathroom or anything go with her.

WOW it's not like mad max out here yet !!!!
You do the same thing you do in your town .

You pay attention to your surroundings and don't put yourself into a Bad situation .
If you look at where you are heading on Google earth and if it looks bad stay out away from the place and drive in just before you deliver .
Of course you always lock your doors every time you get in the truck and park where there are others and plenty of lighting .
You don't need to arm yourself like a Ferguson cop .

Been at it 33 years and I still have my ID and I have not been raped robbed or threatened to the point where I feared for my life .....yet !
    Does it happen yes .
Is it common enough to be a real concern no.

Just keeps ypur eyes and ears open and know who and what is around you .

I've only had one close call. I was within seconds of being raped, but she was kinda homely, so I rolled up the window and locked the door.

I see you listed carbon monoxide. Smart. Most people never think of that. @12 yrs back, they were dicussing it on xm radio, Dave Nemo show. I went out and bought a Carbon Monoxide detector at WalMart (@$20) and installed it in a '97 FLD. A few weeks later the alarm woke me up. I had a bad headache and was glad I had the detector. Had a exhaust leak under cab. Flex pipe. Have had a detector in every truck since.

Besides using caution at a remote rest area at 3 am, or not flashing cash while at the register, Do not ever tell anyone what you're hauling. Be careful about fueling and parking (fuel theft). No hitchikers. Don't drop loaded trailers. Have fun !
