Condolences to the families of the deceased.
I read a story about a trucker stuck in the snow for 30 hours. He had TWO granola bars and some bottles of water. How in the world does a truck driver have so LITTLE food in the truck, especially in winter?Big Don Thanks this. -
ShortBusKid Thanks this.

I once spent 27 hours in the left lane of US 81 stranded in a blizzard in Nebraska. I had plenty of food, water, winter gear and fuel. Still got to be about the longest 27 hours of my life. Finally got us moving and got up to York and of course 80 was closed. Spent another 24 hours sitting. Amenities of a truckstop looked pretty inviting that day!
Big Don, ShortBusKid and Lepton1 Thank this. -

people forget that most cities will start to run out of fuel and food in 3 days. Always be prepared.
A candle in an old fashioned coffee can will keep the chill off, and allow you to melt snow for water in one of your other empty cans.DoneYourWay and Big Don Thank this.
