After 6 - 12 months with whichever company, dozens of other companies will hire and won't have the hair follicle to worry about.

 

If you're willing, as you say, to do OTR and you have 2 years experience you should not really have any problems finding a trucking company that doesn't do hair follicle testing. The most common practice is the pee test. I've worked for multiple companies here in the Northwest and never once been asked to do a HF test.

Simple solution: Send out your resume to 50 companies (I hope you have a resume!). When they contact you, ask them what kind of test they do.

Also I'd suggest applying to companies in the states that pay the most for drivers since you're interested in OTR. If you're doing OTR where you live really doesn't matter as you probably won't see home very much. Good luck ... and great work on getting clean!

How long have you been driving for any experience or do you just have a cdl and never used it my company only does pee but you need atleast 2 years experience and hazmat and tanker even thought we don't pull tankers we do van flatbed I live in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia

 

do not refuse a test ever, and do not fail a DAC drug test. You do that your trucking career is gone.

 

No such thing as a DAC drug test. Did you mean DOT drug test?
DAC is simply an at will 3rd party report of the driver from companies that use it. No one is required to use them.

But yes, a refusal of a piss test is that same as a fail. A hair test though is a bit of a grey area. It's not recognized as a DOT drug test so a refusal is simply that, a refusal.

And a fail does not mean the career is gone, it's just very, very difficult to overcome.
