I've got over 3 years Tanker experience hauling Hydrochloric acid and Caustic. I left my Chemical job on good terms with a letter of recommendation. But since then, I've sat on my ### for six months without driving. I'm planning on driving to Midland / Odessa and then looking for a job that provides housing and a schedule that allows me to go home once a month. So my first question is, Will my inactivity make it hard to find an oilfield job? My second question is about a running a red light ticket I got in my car (non-accident) back in April. This month, my MVR comes back clean with 0 points and no mention of the ticket. Do I need to be upfront about the ticket or should I keep it to myself?
Seeking advice on Midland / Odessa

Only tell them what they can prove on your record.
Do not mention things not showing on record.
@Chinatown will say the same I believe.achillesdave Thanks this. -
As much as they seem to need drivers out there I don't think you will have any problem finding something.
Edit. I just looked at Craigslist for Midland and there are a ton of driving jobs on there.Last edited: Oct 11, 2018

Shouldn't be a problem.

In West Texas all you need is a CDL and a pulse.

Just be aware with who you sign on with. There are some shady companies out there!

That ticket doesn't matter. I was out there during the last boom. You can get out of prison on a Friday and be working in the oilfield by Mondayachillesdave Thanks this.

I've got an offer to work in western Oklahoma driving a water truck. The money is on the low end compared to what others have posted, but its closer to home. Not sure if I'm going to accept it.
