Hi folks. I’ve just crossed the finish line for my first two years as a tanker driver with Schneider. I’m ready to move on for a variety of reasons, the primary one being a need to make more money. I’m seeking suggestions on companies I should look at that operate out of the Atlanta area (I live 60 miles east). I’d like to stay OTR because I prefer longer runs, less local traffic and fewer stops. I know the following operate in my area: Superior, Groendyke, CC Cobb, Miller, Trimac, Action Resources, MC Tank. Not all of them advertise as hiring in this area at the moment. Am I missing anyone? Any smaller companies with nice equipment, low bureaucracy, good pay? I've got a clean record, TWIC, passport...

McKenzie sounds good. Not sure they'd hire me out of Opelika, Savannah or Jesup, living in Athens. I guess there's only one way to find out!

    Apply and see what happens.
Indian River runs coast to coast if that interests you.

I've seen you mention that a number of times. It sounds like good mileage, but I know little about food grade hauling. What sort of load/unload situations do they deal with?

Good idea; that's what I was going to suggest. They have a good thread going and can answer your question with accuracy.
I've read something in the past about them hauling milk and wine; not sure what else. They've posted comments from Florida, California, Washington, and all over.
