Thank you very much @Chinatown !!
I will be looking into each of the recommendations you provided!

As far as food service. I don’t think I’m in shape enough to do that much physical labor.

Anything that is not too labor intensive I’m open to though.

    Thanks again!!!!

Don't worry...that job will get you in shape very quickly. I hauled beverages before and within a month, I had lost a lot of weight. My uniform was hanging off of me lol

Yeah, really, we just call it weather.

I am going to offer you some really good advice - GO TO UPS, apply to work on the dock and then move into a driving position. You already have a leg up than most because you have a CDL and experience and this most likely would be a very good move for you.

    Wolverine meat packing.

I don’t see any openings right now but you could just keep an eye out.
Union that was paying close to what you’re looking for.. I checked a couple years ago and it was around $22? Per hour.
    Full benefits and nice equipment.

I didn’t work directly for them but pulled loads out of there for a couple years.

Michigan is a place where you either love or hate. In my case, I wouldn’t hesitate to move there.

    here’s a link to Wolverine

I looked into all the options recommended by @Chinatown but they are not a good fit. Either I don’t qualify or I’m not in the right location etc.

Except for the hydrogen one and I can’t find a number to call on the website or Google.

I also kind of have a bad shoulder and chronic neck pain which I deal with so I don’t think a difficult touch freight job would be good for me in the long run.
I’m hoping to stay at this next job for a few years at least. Would be nice if I found a job I could just stay with till I’ve saved up enough for retirement though.
Feeling very discouraged. Where are all the hourly paid jobs that don’t require a ton of labor???
That I can work during the day and still have a life at least on the weekends?

Thanks so much! Will definitely be looking into!
Is Michigan a bad place for trucking though bc of the snow/bad weather?
Currently I live in the desert so it’s nice all year but during the 3 summer months it’s extremely hot!
Don’t know how I’m gonna handle working in that heat tbh. So every place has its issues.
Do you think Michigan is worse? Or more dangerous to drive there?

UPS dock workers do the same thing that FedEx dock workers do, load and unload trucks, operate forklifts and they have a dock to driver program which you already have your experience so apply, it won't hurt you to do so.

As for Michigan, please ... there is no bad weather here?

It is called the weather, we are used to it and try very hard to ignore the hype of the talking morons on TV when they go off on tangents on how horrible it will be. Today it is wet, my road here at the office and at the house both are iced over which is manuvrable unless you want to drive like a nut. My trip into the office this morning was wet, not at all icy, and I expect it to be wet for the rest of the week.
