I'm a rookie driver with CDL-A seeking input on driver experiences driving for Schneider. I hear they have a great training program and are as good as anywhere else for getting experience.Thanks.

Lots of info in the Schneider forum at http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/forums/schneider.233/
Kannonball Thanks this. -
What type trucking you looking for? Reefers/flatbed/tankers/van? Where is your location so we know the hiring area you live in.
Kannonball Thanks this. -
I live in the Metro Detroit area and would prefer Tankers (OTR or Regional) but realistically, don't think that's an option for rookie drivers according to the experience (2yrs---some 1 yr) requirements I've read on company websites. Dry van Regional would be my second choice On the Schneider forum (thanks Ubu) I've read a great thread from dieselfuelonly (DFO) on his misadventures with the Big Pumpkin as a newbee company driver. (He went on to become a O/O with Schneider's IC program and is happy). So I'm thinking a smaller carrier might be better in some respects. I know that each carrier has its warts yet am trying to avoid, if possible, being just a number out there among a carrier's 4,000 other drivers....if possible. Just wanna get that first year or two in without getting jacked around too badly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

One new CDL grad from your area was hired with Trimac Transportation for a $60K position. He just walked in to the terminal and asked for an application and a job. This company doesn't have online applications and is real picky about who they hire. Much depends on the terminal and if they need drivers.

Here's some tanker outfits that hire new CDL grads:
