Everybody and their brother is trying to get in the portable parking lot business..
Now I know nothing of car hauling, never done it, don't want to. But I do pay attention to trends in the trucking industry over the years.
I have read on this forum, and others, countless questions from in-experienced or new drivers wanting to haul vehicles. These people have seen where this was a profitable side of trucking, and want to start either with a small 3/4 or 1 ton pick-up pulling a 2 or 3 car trailer, or they want to jump right in jockeying a big 9 car rig. Most of these wannabes do not seem to have much background in this area.
Now usually when this happens , rates plummet. Too many trucks mean low pay to haul the freight.

Is this starting to happen, or are there that many cars that need to be hauled?

Yep. Happened in 2000 when I bought my car hauler. I had been driving for someone else prior to this and it seemed like, as soon as I bought mine, everyone else did, too and the rates tanked.
Of course, Swift had an auto transport division, too, so that didn't help.

I see the attraction to exotic and high value car hauling as the big deal here. Looks lucrative, it's something I've considered. I don't wanna haul cars, those guys do a hard job. Then again, so do I- but this isn't the kind of work I'm looking for. I can see how it would be an attractive sect of driving.

You couldn't combine that into one post? You've got basic sentence structure down, which is more than most of the guys on this forum can say- but why post 4 separate sentences when you could just post a paragraph?

All kidding aside, the hell is a stinger?
